Thanks! I had the same problem as iglinsek above, but I got it eventually when I saw your explanation in the comments. Seems the part about moving the nodes behind the circle was left out of the tutorial?
Will be sure to show it to you when I'm done!

I tell you what...I have been looking all over the web for tutorials on how to make LCARS elements. Thank you so much for making these tutorials! By the way, these tutorials also work in GIMP. Just have to make correction of one pixel when making the swept elements, so, instead of 63px for the big circle, it's 64px.

Excellent! Thanks for that! Glad you found the tutorials helpful. Anything else you would like to see explained?

Actually, yes, there are a few elements I'm having trouble with, specifically some of the Ops, Conn, Transporter, and Tactical interface elements. I realize that they're fairly proportional elements, but, for example, the "D-Pad" on the Helm interface is giving me particular troubles.

Oh, Not a the moment, but, I believe the Okuda term for them is "spinners"?

I am having issues when I select the big circle and the blue element, then I go to Path > Union, the circle dissapears and I don't have the round corner.

Ok.. I will look over the tut and see if I missed something there.

Do you know how to add nodes to a path? With the node tool and the blue bit selected.. double click where the edge of the circle meets the rectangle.

Do this for the top and the side. Then pull the corner one so its under the circle.

Then do the union.

If that doesn't answer it for you, please let me know.

I'm having the same problem. The tutorial as written does not work. Selecting the circle and the blue rectangle section and choosing Path > Union simply makes the circle disappear. There's a step missing.

just above your comment is where I mentioned the missing part. I will get this re-written soon. Thanks.
