Digital painting of Cloud from Advent children.The hardest part on this painting was the wolf on his shoulder. In the end, after trying multiple tries to make it look right I had to trace the shape of the head of the wolf off a movie still before colouring. Painting it right wasnt that hard though. By far the longest painting Ive done.

Wow... thats impressive. What I want to know is, how do you do a digital painting?

Basically, I use dual screen monitors, set up a photo in one and open photoshop in the other. sketch out the proportions (which take a long time) then build up colours picked off the photo from dark to light, then go in close for the fine detail and do the hair last.

Ive done a couple before and it comes down to order and method. proportion through sketch, base colour then work on the bases with shading. As long as you get the eyes nose and mouth right, the pic paints itself really
