I always wanted to do something religeous yet didnt want to upset ppl in how Jesus is portrayed, so Ive done a painting from Passion of the Christ movie to show a image that alot of ppl would know and relate to.Related content

Try water color sometime. It's a bit hard to control at first, but when you get the hang of it, it's wonderful to use!

Yep, lots of people realte to The Passion XD You shouldn't restrict yourself to what pleases other people. Drawing a symbol of faith should reflect YOUR faith or whatever YOU believe.
But it is a wonderful piece of work. Kudos.

I'm offended that you feel you need to defend your artwork with a disclaimer as a part of it's description.
It should not matter what you are creating or how you choose to interpret your subject. What matters is if your effort is well done or not. If you like the piece, then it is in fact a personal success, which often translates into peer recognition but does not always mean that the work is good. For others to argue the merits of content, shows a lack of knowledge relative to art, and art history and most often exposes their prejudices and inability to separate themselves from their personal shortcomings.

Those of us comfortable in our faith, or lack of faith need not concern ourselves with respectful iconography. It is only when we are attacked as believers or non-believers that we should ever raise protest. That being said, I thought you painting was well done, and given the climate of political correctness, quite profound and courageous.

I really don't like how some things are cel-shaded like and some things are smooth. Too smooth

I really like his because it shows how much of a human Jesus of Nazereth really was. It doesn't have the cliche bright backgroud that you see in every painting but it's dark and I really really like it. It kind of symbolizes the sin that surrounded him and eventually destroyed him. And yet there is a little shade of light emmitting from his right side showing how much just a little good can conquer it all. I love it!!

That's really nice. I love your style of painting. It's quite beautiful. <3 Good job on the shadowing. This is a well-deserved DD! You even made the beard a slightly lighter shade of brown, which is actually very common. I know few people who have beards the exact shade as the rest of their hair. ^^
And now just to be silly... lolz Jesus. XD I saw a magazine last week that had a Jesus Mask on the back of it.. It was quite entertaining. lol
