Wow. This most certainly caught my eye when I wqas going through recent stock uses. The iris of the eye is the focal point for me, within it has all of the colors contained by the image as a whole and draws the viewer in. To me, me the rest of the image serves as a beautiful frame for it, the eyelashes and the leaf in particular. The lashes are particularly wonderfully done with the little plays of light on the upper tips. As for the leaf, this is really and truly what I had in mind when I made the stock, you've given it a whole new life though. Overall, stunning.

Wow, thank you! It's really something of a relief that you like it, and even more that other people do as well. I enjoyed making it very much, and I just hope that other deviants enjoy seeing it.
Thank you for the critique! It really made my day.

I have to admit that this caught my eye out of the critiquable list. I really like the original idea and the design, as someone already commented. The colours are lovely and the eye is done really nicely! What I have a problem with though, is the leaf and the brushes. I don't think that they look realistic enough (not like real make up). You need to try and maybe make them look more realistic. I think that you could use liquify or perspective warping to make the leaf and the brush follow the shape of the model's face and also make them stand out slightly less (maybe lower opacity or something).
Other than that - this is really good. Well done!

I completely agree! I use Gimp, though, and it unfortunatly doesn't have the liquify or a sufficient warping/shaping tool. It does have a warp tool, so after I read you critique I opened the image up again and warped the leaf as well as I could. Does it look any better, maybe?
I'm so glad you wrote a critique! Thank you!

hehhe Well I do my best to write critiques as much as possible, because that's what the website lacks. But I think that the leaf does look more real now, yea good work!
And no worries on the critique!

I saw that! It's people like you who make the dA world go round. And now I actually know how to use a warp tool a bit, whereas I didn't even know it existed before.
Keep critiquing, you really helped me!

Yellow, the color of extreme, extreme heat and freedom, extreme yellow provides extrem feelings depending on the mood, orange, the color of deciet, such a picture that a very strong eyes is portrayed, but deep inside, you'll never know she might be a very gentle person

Really nice effect you have here love the leaf how it blends in with the eye and the whole atmosphere but there is one slight problem the orange glittery it looks as if its not blended in with the whole image like its not really there in some parts if you could sort that out it would look even better but other than that great work i love it

Leafbreeze7 In reply to LB-digital [2011-12-10 21:05:25 +0000 UTC]
Thank you! And, yes, I had a bit of problems with the leaf and glitter-stuff. I managed to fix up the leaf a bit, but I'm thinking now that I should have blurred-sharped and warped the glitter a bit to make them look like they're against the skin. There's a first for everything, though, I guess!
At least I know for next time!
Thank you for your pleasing and inspiring comment, and the watch too!
