"I rather like this squirrel."another little diddle of Teagan and Gareth. I'm still quite annoyed with how Teagan comes out. i'm not good at drawing squirrels! and she's too sassy looking, and cat like! she's supposed to be soft and sweet in personality, and more practical than cheeky.
Gareth is the only one who ever behaves himself when I draw him.
it's also depressing that fan-art is more fun than OC art... animals are just easier! I wish I could focus on my OCs but when i write for them it's crap. when i draw for them its crap. they're just upsetting.
*heavy sigh*

Sometimes it can be a good idea to take a little break from your usual characters to replenish your ideas and enthusiasm for them. Also you draw really adorable animals!

I felt that way about my watership down thing but then i got bored of it like, two chapters in i feel terrible... i never can finish anything!
i love animals, they bring back so much nostalgia (same with redwall) they make me so happy.

I look forward to seeing more of these cuties then :3 You know, I don't think I've ever tried drawing a squirrel before but you certainly seem to have done a good job with Teagan. Though if you're worried about her being too catlike (as you mentioned in your comment) you might try giving her smaller, rounder ears, less like a red squirrel and more like a grey squirrel.
Animals are such fun!

Oh good! (they do look like fun. I'll have a stab at sketching them once I've finished with all my art trades...which will probably be twenty years from now considering the speed I've been drawing at recently.
Then don't change them on any account, they look great as they are. Yeah, they're all over the place where I live too (that's why I though of them XD). True! They are delightfully slithery for mammals.

Ohhh dat tail is all fluff and energy. She sort of reminds me a tad of your Whisper (the marbled polecat oc you had). Its like Gareth superimposed his face in her hands when really she was adoring something else, like a fruit or something "remember this picture, see how you appreciated me' - 'I don't remember that!'
Animals are easier, its sad but true, maybe you do need to draw them as animals for a bit, like what I did with my Guildam Boys (I started drawing them as humans to match but only got through Armand and Henri, and Camine and Toulouse before giving up like 'they were so much easier as animals!' *throws the papers in a box file to forget*)

Yeah I know whisper is sort of the closest thing to a squirrel I can use as a base until I get this redwall style figured out

Maybe you just need to draw all your OC's as animals :> I used to draw all mine as cats. Humans are such trouble :/ but hey nothing wrong with drawing fanart. And these guys are still OCs and they're adorable
