Description:
And here we have Soundwave from Transformers Prime, done Celtic Style. Yes, I know my art muse is insane, that's why I draw these sorts of things. XD This is of course fan art with my own original artistic flair, and we all know that Soundwave and Transformers are owned by and copyrighted to Hasbro and Takara Tomy. But we love these guys so much, we just gotta draw our own fan art of these awesome characters to show our love and appreciation for them. **grins**

This particular image had been brewing in my fuzzy little head for some time now. It started with a sketch I did, oh, sometime back in September of 2012 I think it was, but never got the chance to finish it until recently. Well, I finally scanned it (July 6th, 2013) and got the line art finished over two or three days. XD It took another two days just to get the flat colors done, an added day to get all the shading and effects done, then a day (spread over like five days of frustration) to get the bloody thing ANIMATED!

The only reason it took so long to animate this monster was because my computer bitched at me about the file size and flat did NOT want to cooperate with me, so I had to set up each animation frame separately, save them as individual png files, then put the individual frames together into one psd file in photoshop (which did not want to save the full size file on either computer, period), then shrink the thing down to a smaller size and resolution so it would save and animate the damned thing. >.< I really need to upgrade my computer, that’s just all there is to it.

The sine wave script you see in the image is actually a font created for the Alien Nation series called Tenctonese, but in looking at it, I thought that visually it fit Soundwave really well, so I used it here. The outer track has two quotes, while the inner track is one quote, and the scroll text is a separate additional quote. But since no one was up to the challenge of translating the text, here it is for those who are interested.

Left Side Outer Track Quote: I am Music I am Sound I am Shadow I am Darkness I am Soundwave
Right Side Outer Track Quote: I see and hear all My reach invisible intangible My grip cast iron
Inner Track Quote: That was heaven the purest most vibrant most perfect harmony I have ever heard
Mask Scroll Text Quote: Soundwave Superior

They're supposed to look like that actually.  The tentacle lights are supposed to blink on and off, the two rings of text are supposed to pop on then fade out, and the text on his mask is supposed to scroll by.  **smiles**

Well, you do have till the 7th and it only costs like a nickle or a dime at the library (normally).  Plus, you probably should get ink for your printer anyway.  I need to do the same, actually.  XD

**facepalms**  You should get ink for your printer though.  You can use that to print out linearts you did on the computer (or ones that others give you permission to color) and color them in traditional medium to keep up practice.

Well I never do that Katt... and I only ever use it when I need to scan something... I do not even have it hooked up.

**shrugs**  Your choice on that.  I personally use it a lot to save on having to redraw things 20 times when I want to try different colorings in traditional mediums.  Still, you can use the lineart to figure out the script text if you want.
