If you've ever tried to figure out Transformer terms for time units, you probably ran into the same problem I did: Confusing and or Contradictory definitions for far too many terms. So, I went through, found the most appropriate or widely used terms between the continuities, and made this to try and make some sort of sense of the lot of it. This of course is not strictly canon (canon time units terms are convoluted at best as it is), but it's based on canon with an attempt to straighten the mess out at least to some degree into something more useful. I know it really helps us out a lot in the Transformers RP's I am in, that's for sure. XD

If you read the text at the top of the image and the submission description, I mostly explain it there. I primarily wrote this for the Live Action continuity. Fall of Cybertron and War for Cybertron are part of the Transformers Prime continuity. It wasn't arbitrary and I took a lot of things into consideration when making this.

A Nano-Cycle being a second, A Cycle a minute, you get the idea.

Oh yeah he also did that to no matter what someone said to him he always answers what like he was deaf but it was also I think related to his cycle speed as one episode Megabyte the Villain of the show had his goons switch places with him and when the minion responded "Coing right up." to the waiter's call of the order (Cyberspace food I know XD) he remarks that "Al's moving fast today." best part of that is the waiter was voiced by the same guy who played Optimus Primal in BW too. Good old Gary Chalk.

If you read the description, this is a logical simplification based on canon terms, not "what is strictly canon in X continuity", for use in an RP setting. And you are actually canonically incorrect with regards to the definition of "Orbital Cycle".
In canon, an Orbital Cycle is listed as one month (referring to one Lunar Orbit), not one day, and I had already used "Lunar Cycle" to equal a Month in this listing since it made more sense to me to use that terminology as one orbit of the Moon around the Earth is roughly equal to one Month on Earth (which is where the term Month actually comes from - literally Moon Time).
That being said, how long does it take for a planet to go once around a star (one Orbit)? One year for that planet, right (not to be confused with a "Solar Year", which is a completely different time scale altogether)? Hence "Orbital Cycle = 1 Year" makes more sense in context. Plus, a day is already defined as a Solar Cycle in canon and it would make very little sense to have two conflicting terms for the same thing in this. Also, since Stellar Cycle (One Year) is too close to Solar Cycle (One Day) because Stellar (Star) and Solar (the Sun or a Star with Planets) essentially mean the same thing in Astronomical terms (having to do with a Star), I chose to omit confusion and use Orbital Cycle for a year instead of Stellar Cycle.
As an addition, Cycle refers to One Planetary Rotational Cycle, which is shortened to simply Cycle for the purposes of this file; though I could have used Rotational Cycle, but that term does not exist in canon and I've already used one non-canon specific term because I needed one that was specific to that time unit that made more logical sense in context with the rest of the file and Cycle was sufficient enough to use here. And because in canon, Cycle refers to everything from one minute to one year (depending on the continuity in question), which makes it more than a little confusing and convoluted, again I simplified it for the purposes of this file.

Sorry about the mistake. I just was wondering because in Animated, Starscream said " This is going to be a long Orbital Cycle" in 'A Bridge Too Close' part 1 and I believe what most people say is "This is going to be a long day".

Well, in the list on TFWiki, it says month, not day, and they ONLY list what is actual canon and I have cross reference with actual canon sources so I know it's accurate.
At any rate, this is a simplification of the multi-continuity list for the purposes of an RP and one that people can use in other RP's or in fan fictions if they wish.

**giggles** The main list that covers all the continuities is just insanely confusing honestly, because some of the terms have several different meanings or there's different terms for the same thing, depending on the continuity. So, I made a standardized list that I thought would be helpful or useful to people.

I'm working on the fourth chapter, I have all these ideas, but wrestling them into coherent parapgraphs is proving to be tricky, so things are being written a few lines at a time. >.<
