I've rather enjoyed both of your walkthroughs sir and they have provided a lot of insight! I myself use the Painter Technique with the Just Add Water tool but I could never seem to replicate the effect quite so well in Photoshop-- which is the program I first learned coloring... My Photoshop coloring jobs come out 'flat' in a word, there's no color depth or vibrancy to them like what I can achieve in Painter. BUT your Jude Law walkthrough just means I need to work at it more! ^.^
I will saw I was trying to guess who it was in this walkthrough without reading your comments first and I was just saying to myself 'GUH! I KNOW who it IS but I can't think of his NAME aaaaugh! XD' And yes I second it really does look just like Eric Close. XD

the photoshop smudge tool is kinda similar to painter liquid tool (well not as efficient though and with the notable fact that this smudge tool constantly crashed my computer hence I haven't been using it for ages ^^) but the more i colour, the more I tend to avoid using those tools; you can achieve similar if not more interesting effects by simply using textured airbrushes at low opacity (5-10%) with intermediate shades for blending colours and it's so much less memory consuming.
hehe glad you recognized Eric Close althought I've drastically changed his hairstyle! thanks for the fav.

Thank you :] it doesn't take much talent to work so closely from reference but it's a good practice to get a hand on facial anatomy and skin rendition.
have a nice day
