Played with both lighting and perspective here! And trailers. -shakes fist- I got lazy when it was time to colour the trailer though, so it looks somewhat scant. OOPS! xD Oh well! Hopefully you guys like it anyway! Not the trailer coz that's rubbish. But the other stuff. The stuff I actually did spend time on. -bashes head against wall- Oh lazeh bones.

Also, lineart on the computer takes way too long D: The next few pictures may be inked traditionally because of lack of time. IF ONLY THERE WERE MORE HOURS IN A DAY! Thus, I apologize in advance for wibbly-wobbly, black lines! Dey make da world saaaad. Also forgive my nonfunctional brain. Not Brian. 'Tis dead, 'tis dead. My brain. Not Brian.

I dunno Brian.

ALONSY ALONSO!

Character Index:
Roo - generally easy going, native of Australia, has delusions of cowboy grandeur.
Spawn - high maintenance Nordanner mare; frankly, a bit of a bitch
Chess - long distance friend of Roo's; belongs to ~Tattered-Dreams

Introducing:
Ginny Wright - 11 year old long-time student at Carousel Stables in NZ (mentioned)

Roo yanked at the collar of his gaudy Hawaiian shirt, the one little Ginny had given him for his birthday a few months ago. Everyone at home hated it; it was bright orange and strewn with palm trees and surfboards, and they'd officially banned it from the stable. In fact, if he so much as looked at the Mews while hawaii-clad, he'd be kicked off the property or sent up to Mark's room to borrow what they called 'a real shirt'. One time, they'd made him put of one of Effy's. He'd disliked the frills and lace, and had never worn the shirt again. Just in case.

But now he was nowhere near the Mews, or the stable, or even Matamata in general. He was in Utah. Finally. After a fourteen hour flight into LA, and then another nine and a half hours driving, he was almost there. And he could wear his shirt. Cowboys, horses and hawaiian shirts. This was the life.

He pulled his truck into the road which led up to the Academy (according to the map; though he'd already gotten hopelessly lost once, and trusted the stupid piece of paper about as far as he could throw it -- which isn't far, if you've ever tried to throw paper. The stupid thing always comes floating back) and glanced around, worried. After a moment, the rich fields began to show signs of life: a horse here, a car there, and the closer they got to the academy itself, the more people and horses, tents and trailers were peppered over the lush landscape.

He was late, he realized (not at all surprised) as he drove his truck and trailer slowly off the path and into a grassy paddock. His eyes hunted for someone in particular -- he'd never seen her, but he was sure he'd know her when he saw her. But the farther in he drove, the less likely that seemed. Finally, he eased the truck and trailer to a stop and stepped out onto the soft grass.

Spawn whinnied from inside the trailer, demanding to be let out. Nearly hours in a car was too long for anyone, especially her. They'd stopped a few times for quick rides in rural places, but that had done almost nothing to drain her energy, and Roo knew it. Nevertheless, he ignored her, fishing his mobile out of his pocket and searching through the contacts for Chess' number. They'd probably be leaving again in a few moments anyway.

A loud, metallic clang cut his hunt short, and Spawn whinnied angrily from the trailer behind him. She hated trailers, and considering they had stopped, she had no idea why she was still trapped inside one. It was beyond unacceptable!

His finger hovered over the number when he found it, and a rush of adrenaline coursed through him. He was here, he realized. He was here! In no time at all, he'd be an actual cowboy! Sort of! And as he did with most everything in his life, he was going to go all out. He intended to fake the accent at first, but had practiced alone in the car (four hours was a LONG time when you were stuck alone in a truck) but he'd sounded even to himself like a dying meerkat, so he figured throwing in a random ‘y’all’ or a ‘pardner’ every now and then would be perfectly authentic. Authentic enough for him in any case.

Spawn whinnied loudly once more and snapped him out of his delightful reverie. “Chill your whiskers, Spawn, I’m coming,” he told her, slightly put off by her rude interruptions of his cowboy dreams and aspirations. Spawn snorted impatiently and slammed her hoof into the trailer door once more as her minion hurried to oblige.

Roo quickly pulled down the gate, and Spawn glared at him (as best a horse can) over her shoulder, giving a hard tug to the rope which kept her firmly attached to the trailer. She pulled harder as he came around to untie it, giving him an angry whinny as he worked her free as quickly as he could.

Which naturally wasn’t quick enough. Spawn snorted again and sent him an irritated whicker, stomping her hoof expectantly onto the hey-covered trailer floor. “Yeah, yeah. I heard you the first time,” he told her, giving her a rough pat on the withers.

It felt to Spawn as though a lifetime had passed as she waited for him to lead her out, obliging more than happily as she clopped energetically down the ramp and onto the grass. Grass! her mind squealed as she crushed it beneath her hooves. It seemed like years since she had last touched grass! It was marvelous! It was splendid! It was the most amazing sensation she had ever had, coming out into the light of the setting sun, breathing in the fresh desert air and plunging her dark hooves in and out of the brush. She wanted to run and dance and prance, going as far and as fast as she could. That was a good idea; she'd do it! She'd do it now! Whether Roo liked it or not! With a loud trumpeting call, she made a small half rear (all for show; she was nothing if not an entertainer) and forged ahead -- and was yanked back. She snorted angrily and threw her head over her shoulder, trying to locate her lead line. There it was, tied to the trailer. Tied. Again. Again with the 'tied'. Always with the bleeding 'tied!'

She snorted furiously and pawed at the grass, uprooting it as Roo ran a hand through her firey forelock. "I know, but it's just for a while, yeah? Then we'll take a ride, I promise."

She gave him a defeated snort, but didn't try to bolt again. Instead, she gave him a gentle nip and thrust her head into his chest, demanding to be patted and loved.

Roo stroked her gently as he dialed Chess, running her long mane between his fingers, absentmindedly working out the tangles as he listened to the monotonous ring of Chess' mobile. After a moment, she picked up.

" Chess!" he exclaimed excitedly, pulling his hand away from the mare and pressing it against his other ear. "Hey! How's things? Look, sorry, I'm lost... I think. I'm in a field that looks rather a lot like every other field I've ever seen in my life. Ever. Defining traits -- there's some people here. Aaaaand... I'm here too. Also I think Spawn stepped on a frog. Okay, I'll stop talking. Anyway, where you at?" he rambled, finishing suddenly as he shoved Spawn's broad head away from his hand; it was completely and utterly wrong that she was not being petted. He had one free arm; why wasn't it scratching her behind the ear?! There was something seriously wrong with him, and she aimed to tell him.

Roo heard her laughing on the other end of the line and subconsciously put on a puzzled look as he tried to note all of her directions. Take the second left after the main building, drive straight down some small road, something about some building, there was a flag thrown in there somewhere, and also possibly a hamster. He was lost.

"Right, well, I got none of that," he told her, pushing Spawn backwards and taking a step away, so she couldn't reach his hair -- she had an irritating habit of chewing at it when she wanted his attention, and the last thing he wanted was to finally meet Chess and Cat completely doused in horse spit.

Spawn whinnied angrily, trying to grab his attention as he moved away, and stomped her hoof into the earth. Why was he being so difficult?!

"Where's the... stables...? Erm.... Haven't the foggiest actually," he said with a frown, looking around the field to see if he could spot it. "I don't think we passed it. I hope. I didn't see a building in any case. I think. There's a possibility it's to the left, but then it may be to the right as well. I doubt it's straight; there isn't a road. Just mountains. And probably some -- SPAWN!" he yelped as the mare reached out and chomped him on the bottom. That'd teach him to ignore her. "OW!" he exclaimed, leaping away from her teeth as she called out to him once more.

"No, not -- it's nothing. Just Spawn being a b -- bad horse," he muttered into his mobile. Spawn blinked her big, round eyes at him innocently, as though startled that he could accuse her of ever doing anything of the sort. But Roo wasn't falling for it as he rubbed his aching bum. It was his turn to glare. "I think she needs a bit of a ride. I'll take her out, see if I can find you lot. Wait up for me; coz I'll likely call you back crying in a few hours. Have the rescue team ready. See you later, I hope!"

He hung up and quickly shoved the small, outdated machine into his pocket before daring to approach Spawn again, offering her his hand as a white flag. She shoved her nose into it and waited as he rubbed her gently. Then he slid past her and locked up the truck and the trailer, and untied her from it. She whinnied happily and he just barely managed to throw himself onto her back as she took off down the field. He yanked back on the lead rope and turned her around, back towards the way they had come; she was remarkably well trained, (in theory) not that you'd know it, and with a grumpy snort, she turned around and bolted towards the gate. She may be following his lead, but that didn't mean she was
following his stupid snail's pace. She was running. Finally.

That was ridiculously long. Sorreh >.<

Tattered-Dreams [2012-05-22 23:56:47 +0000 UTC]

Ahahahahahahahahaha....

I cannot actually get across how much I love this! The story and your comments really make this perfect, but lets start with the art

Okay, so she has a bit of a pensive expression but look! She knows how to prick her ears! And she looks so adorable when she does. I can't see much wrong with your lines, either (believe me, I've done far worse). She looks fantastic against the brilliance of the background and I like that little section of mane juse lying over her neck. The field looks great, but I just love the out of focus wheat stalks at the edge - its like Roo had to creep up on her and take a picutre on the sly before she pinned her ears again

And what's this about bad trailers? It looks fine! You didn't cheat like me, either - you've got tie rings, and numbers, and a grate, and hinges and symbols...I like it

And now...

"Also forgive my nonfunctional brain. Not Brian. 'Tis dead, 'tis dead. My brain. Not Brian. I dunno Brian." < This is the best thing I've read all day! Hilarious

And then that story pulls even with all this > "delusions of cowboy grandeur" "frankly, a bit of a bitch" "what they called 'a real shirt" (haha! I love how Roo just seems nonplussed on what a 'real shirt' is!) "Also I think Spawn stepped on a frog" (Omigod, I died!) And finally this amazing line: "something about some building, there was a flag thrown in there somewhere, and also possibly a hamster. He was lost." Have I said how much I love Roo? A hamster!

But honestly, I loved the story. Roo's crazed arrival (paper can't be thrown away XD) and Spawn trying to break the lorry from the inside. Also it was awesome to see Roo's point of view on Chess, so thank you so much for throwing her in there too. I can completely imagine her laughing and actually mentioning a hamster as a joke, just to see if he picked up on it. That's entirely something she'd do...XD

And did the Hawaiian T-shirt bit cross over from another mention of mine? The minute you mentioned it I knew whatever came next was going to be off the wall and plain epic

And I'll stop here before I've left an essay Lovely work, and fantastic story!

YEEE! Thank you! And yes, he REALLY had to try to get that photo! And then I assume she tried very hard to eat him. I'm glad it made you laugh! And I'm glad I got Chess down! lol! Even if I WAS too terrified to make her actually talk.

And thank you on that account, though I don't see it T-T The trailer makes me cringe xD

And YES. That's precisely where the hawaiian shirt came from! No psychic connection unfortunately, but definitely a good idea on your end. You got him down pat on that respect!

Sorreh for the uber short reply >.< Just got back from three days doing nothing on the beach! So as you've probably guessed my mind is not in working order T-T

You're welcome

Haha - I have the best mental image of Spawn chasing Roo around with a noose in her mouth now... (I'm just waiting for Dudette to get a picture of her and her horse posted so I can do a picture of all three of us together )

And I can appreciate the cringing - my own trailer makes me cringe, so you're entitled XD.

I'm really glad I'm not botching Roo up (and don't be afraid to give Chess some lines in your stories, if you want to. Honestly, the way you write the rest of the insanity is pretty much up her alley, so I don't think you'd have a problem ) But its great to know you liked the Hawaiian shirt

And no worries. Three days on a beach sounds epic! I'm not surprised your brain (not brian ) isn't completely in gear

Lol My brian isn't completely in gear either -strokes imaginary mustache-

the mustache is called brian ._.

Not at ALL. I think for the next one, I'm probably gonna throw some Chess lines in, maybe even give Cat a try. If I have the courage! I'm so desperate to throw Cat in! WE NEED SPUR! Let's go picket Dudette xD Only she's busy... so when she's DONE being busy LET'S PICKET DUDETTE!

Have I told you how much I love your sense of humour? Well I do

And I have a feeling Dudette isn't going to use Spur, but she's going to use pictures of her and her rl horse in some way... Not sure how, yet...but one way or another, we'll know by the 1st of June then we can picket away (...did you make that word up...?)

But yep; definitely throw a few lines in from Cat and Chess (if in doubt, you could always ask what Chess might say)

LeavingNeverland In reply to Tattered-Dreams [2012-05-27 12:00:45 +0000 UTC]

Lol! Why thank you! I think it's because we both have the same sort of sense of humour. Lots of people don't understand mine and then it's like -awkward silence. cricket chirps- Just one cricket.

Awwww. Though that does sound both interesting and fun... I'd like to see that. SOON! So we can draw her! I'mma dyin' here! ha ha I love seeing people's RL horses. It's always so much fun xD And no, my word making up skills are not that ace. Picket are protest. It's what Dad always wants to do when they raise the prices at the grocery. It never happens.

If in doubt (and not in rush) I most assuredly can! And will! If I'm not lazy. If I get it wrong you can just slap me a note saying 'Chess butchered. Fix it' and I will HOP TO IT!

You're most welcome I do think we have a wavelength thing going here - I'm usually coined as 'sarcastic' or 'corrupted' but either way, not everyone gets me, either. 'Cept my dad; we have pretty much exactly the same sense of humour. We practically exist on our own level, which really gets on my mum's nerves XD (poor lonely cricket - Have a cookie)

It's definitely different XD. It will be good to see more of her boy (though I have a soft spot for her mare (she looks faintly Arabian, is why )). And lol; I love making up words and using ones that don't exist. Suckage in place of the generic "This sucks" was probably the most recent one I've picked up. In general, though, its more fun to confuse people by words that actually do exist. Like antidisestablishmentarianism

Swear on my life; it exists. (But I dunno if it's in the dictionary - I haven't looked in an actual dictionary for about 5 years...)

Hahaha - I won't send you a note saying that! Though it is hilarious. And if you hop, you might sprain an ankle

lol! I pitty your poor mother! She must feel very left out over dinner conversations xD

Is it Legion she's going to use? I hope so, I rather like that mare. It would be great to have another man in the group but we'll just hvae to make do!

lol! I heard that word in a song! (Impressive I am not) Never used it in actual conversation though. Unfortunately. One day!! And who uses DICTIONARIES these days? Google's so much easier! Dictionary.com is my best friend! lol

Tattered-Dreams In reply to LeavingNeverland [2012-05-27 13:23:26 +0000 UTC]

Haha, she probably does . When we get too much for her, she just yells at us both to "quiet down, or take it outside" XD.

And I believe she's going to use Rusty - [link] her rl gelding and enter via photos that have been painted/edited. she got the go ahead from *WesternSpice so I guess we gotta wait and see At least that's a gelding for Roo to hang out with (And if you like Legion, you may wanna see the birthday art I did for her... (though it makes me guiltier that I missed yours)) (I'll just have to design an epic foal...or twins.... )

Haha, a song? I have to find it! and nope; I don't think you can use it in actual conversation - its such an outdated term. Still, I like to throw it in, just to see if people are listening Fun times. And definitely! Google and Tesco are competing for world domination - dictionaries on actual shelves might as well start leaping off like lemmings now.

Lol! I love your mum already!

AW that's adorable! Is she gonna be making a whole sheet for him and everything? That'll be bril I think. I'd love to have my horse in game xD You know... if I wasn't horseless at the moment.... And yes, Roo will definitely appreciate a gelding. They will wander of into the brush together for some male bonding... which means he'll pass him some carrots. Because otherwise that's stealing a horse. Let's not go there.

I can't wait to see herrrrr! Yes, I do like Legion. I have a soft spot for TBs, and black ones are just so beautiful! I need to start a birthday drawing for her x.x It's gonna be late! Oops. And that. sounds. epic. lol! I'm sure your foal (or foals!) will be fantastical amazing! Spectacular spectacular! Something about a vernacular... time to watch Moulin Rogue.

LOL! I'm never going to get the image of suicidal dictionaries out of my mind now. And grar Tesco. Why must you make me pay so much for sweets?!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tattered-Dreams In reply to LeavingNeverland [2012-05-27 14:35:46 +0000 UTC]

She'll be thrilled to know that

It really is adorable. And I have no clue I can't wait to see how she does it, though... And same here; currently (sorta) horseless. Technically I'm sharing a friend's horse, but its really informal coz he needs bringing on.

And...Are you aware what you said can be construed in a completely different way? (Warning: Corrupted thoughts; no brain filters). Sorry, just made me laugh when I read it. But yes, horse stealing would be bad.

I'm posting it bang on midnight tonight, coz Cat (that's Dudette, btw) didn't want it early XD. So it's all ready to go - I just gotta click a button (I don't think she'll mind late ones, though

And I will endeavour to make the foal as amazing as possible (also, I love Moulin Rouge)

Huzzah! I have succeeded Suicidal dictionaries will invade minds all over the planet (Tesco charges too much for sweets, tiz true. But they do sneakers for a great price)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LeavingNeverland In reply to Tattered-Dreams [2012-05-29 13:34:13 +0000 UTC]

Sharing a horse is definitely better than nothing! So gimmie some details! Breed, colour, age, name? I MUST KNOW! And in my opinion, informal is certainly better between friends, considering when things get too tight, toes seem to get stepped on, if you know what I mean.

Yeeeeaaaaaaah. I got that. AFTER I posted it. I banged my head against my computer and crossed my fingers people would at least get some entertainment out of my utter stupidity!

WOOOHOO! I was thinking instead of matches, I've got a breeding reserved with this [link] stallion. Would that be all right? I'm thinking the baby will be a filly, and from her I'd like to get a matches baby, so that I can keep some Lakewood in my lines, if you know what I mean.

Moulin Rouge is one of my all time favourites x.x It's so well done! And such a sweet story! Not to mention the music's brilliant! The Nature Boy opening gives me chills with Christian's dialogue, and the Tango de Roxanne is faaaaabulous!

And yes. Suicidal dictionaries have certainly not left my pathetic thoughts. And I wouldn't know about the trainers; I despise shoe shopping! lol!

Haha, it is I suppose. At least until I can find my Arabian

He's called Dusty, he's a fleabitten grey, part bred Arab (no idea what the other part is but he's quite fine built). I'm not sure age, but I'm thinking early/mid teens and he's around 14-14.2hh. My friend was given him by a family friend of hers, along with a smaller pony called Shadow. Shadow's gone back, but the original owner never got along with Dusty (she wasn't really fond of him and being part Arabian, he could tell so he got worse with her). My friend's been working with him, trying to bring him on. He was pretty much used for kids to sit on and ride around the field, which he doesn't like, because he hates being ridden by people who can't ride. So his flatwork's improving and she's been jumping him. I'm helping out now to improve his tone, work in an outline, balance and carriage. Just see how we go, I guess. I'll see if I can get any photos up

And lol - it was hugely entertaining. I got the best laugh out of it

Now...That screws my entire plan to make the foal a colt and pinch a breeding later XD, but its your foal, so no problem A filly it is! And yay! I completely approve that stally, coz it means I have a sabino gene to work with (I've got the foal's picture half done )
(and I'll leave your booking up on Matches, if you want that for the future )

Haha, my mum can only watch it once every now and again, but I do love the soundtrack and the story It just makes me laugh, too, which is always good.

Same here, honestly. I hate shopping - for anything except books XD - but I happen to know Tescos do have decent prices for clothes...

He sounds beautiful! I wish a family friend of mine would give me a horse! My mum's friends in Costa Rica breed amazing Andalusians. One can dream, right?! never gonna happen DREAM! Anyway, Dusty sounds like a real character. I'd LOVE to see some photos; anytime you can! It's a shame he never got on with his owner, but I suppose that's definitely beneficial for you guys since your friend got a free horse out of it, and you get a free ride!

LOL!!! You can pinch a breeding with the filly! Maybe she can have two foals with Matches, one for you, one for me! Ha ha. Then we could have siblings and have them do pair jumping together or something xD Yeah I kind of fell in love with the sabino. Also with the fact that he's got something of a show record, which for some reason I like in horses. Don't ask me why, since they're virtual! lol And I can't wait to see the foal! I'll try and finish up with Aphie's picture tomorrow, and hopefully she looks like her, and not like some possessed... thing. Getting Arabian confirmation down is gonna take some practice, but I'll get it sooner rather than later I hope!

And YES! Please keep the breeding! ha ha. Our little girl can still have twins! Or Aphie can have a colt and he can stud one of your ladies and there can be Lakewood x Carousel foals that way too. We're pretty even on the male female ratio at the moment (3 boys and 3 girls, once I get Topsy up!) so I gender's not all that important to me at the moment. So long as she/he has an entertaining personality!

Aaaaaaaaaaand now I feel like watching Moulin Rouge. Yes, laughing is always good! At least in my nonsensical world.

You ARE my other half! lol! I'm exactly the same. The only things I shop for are books and art supplies. It drives my mum mad! She loves to shop, so she drags me with her sometimes and then complains about me being unpleasant xD

He is quite adorable and definitely with a character XD (tried to bath him a few days ago - he hates the hose, so we pretty much chased him around the triangle - their small yard-type area - to get him soaked. But we decided to try chucking a bucket at him instead to rinse off, and he didn't have a care in the world, even though we literally upturned them on his back! Arabians). And lol - it would be nice, wouldn't it? Haha - definitely keep that dream its unlikel You never know! I will definitely try to take some pics when I see him next (maybe working in his outline if I can coax it out of him XD); along with the little herd she has And he's quite capable, so I guess its a good thing his owner didn't want him back; coz he'd have been wasted.

Yay! I'll definitely have to save breeding when she's older (that's unless you have people vying for her XD) I don't know how many slots you usually do but if you don't have many, but a lot of interest, I don't have to have a foal. That's no problem But I am completely in love with this twins idea to pair jump with You are a genius!

Sabino is so easy to love. I'm just addicted to it XD (and that's the point; that horses with show records are the desireable ones - that's not just you! Arabian conformation is definitely distinctive, so its quite obvious when its wrong. Its not such a huge deal with most other breeds (that's what i think; a hannoverian fanatic may disagree ) but your picture looks epic, so no worries!

Haha, I do that! Keep ratios or males to females even! I shouldn't, coz that's not real life (and I prefer mares) but its automatic Just out of curiosity, you said gender doesn't matter as long as the personality is entertaining - did you want me to do a basic outline or personality, or leave it to you? I'm good either way

I've been watching Flashpoint (the TV series) like the world's ending XD I'm obsessed! And my Legend of the Seeker DVDs are being shipped to Haven't watched an actual movie for a while...I think the last one was I Am Number 4...

Don't even get me started on art supplies! I could live in Hobbycraft. Best shop ever And you're actually freaking me out; that's what my mum does! takes me with her while I grumble away under my breath, until we stop on the way home for macdonalds

LeavingNeverland In reply to Tattered-Dreams [2012-05-30 10:59:41 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like a bath time adventure! x.x I've never had that problem surprisingly enough. All the horses I've ever bathed have been perfectly fine with hoses! Dumb luck I guess! Chasing a horse around a triangle does not sound productive xD

A breeding is definitely yours! And yes, these pair jumping twins (or at least siblings, though twins would be WICKED) must must must must MUST happen! They'd be the most adorable set out there >D Maybe we can even shove them into a driving team! Though that might be more difficult considering half the team lives in New Zealand and the other half lives in the States. So maybe we just go with the pair jumping xD

It IS! Sabinos are soooo gorgeous! I think the only paint pattern I like better is overo, and it's not by much. From what I've seen, conformation in other breeds isn't as strict or flamboyant (erm... as well broadcast? not sure how to express myself there!) as it is with Arabians. And gracias! lol

Lol!! I know, but it's fun xD I have to stop though; I'm thinking of starting to randomize my stable a little, so that there's a bit more realism in how it's run. I might start with this foal, considering I really have no gender preferences, whereas with the others I've known since the start if I wanted them to be male or female. I think I will! I'll randomize this baby's gender! And maybe some other stuff! But mainly gender xD As for personality, if you've got something in mind you can go for it! If not, I think I might have a bit of a rough outline of him/her in my head.

Lol! I am number four was AGES ago! Go watch a film! Personally, I love films, and tv shows, but films in particular. I'm a bit of a buff actually x.x

Ha ha! That's insane!! We never stop for Macdonalds because mum's been on a health trip for the past ten years, but the shopping bit is aaaaall there. It's so irritating! But mothers will be mothers I suppose!

Haha - productive is not a word for it, no XD. It was definitely a fun afternoon - though to be fair, getting a bit soaked was nice, considering it was really warm

And thank you! I'd love a breeding and twins isn't completely impossible: they're usually a little small, but they could both be healthy A driving team sounds wicked - maybe back them for jumping and driving so we can choose?

Sabino is one of my favourite genes (in heterozygous form, anyway). I'm not so fond of overo because I don't really like bald/apron faces and blue eyes. They tend to creep me out XD. Here's hoping you don't hate me for the crazy sabino speckling on your new foal And yeah, I get that feeling; Arabian conformation is widely broadcast and quite different, so its not really surprising they're one of the most awkward to depict (and unfortunately, fairly noticeable if there's stuff wrong, which I do frequently).

I tend to do that, too. A lot of my horses, they have genders and names before they have a design (I get really attached to names XD)but they just come to me, depending on what role I want them to fill or who they belong to. For example, I knew Chess had to have a sensitive mare, and Becca had to have a temperamental stallion. Austin - straight laced showjumper - had to have a horse with a sense of humour . And I prefer mares, so if a gelding or stallion ever leaps into my mind, their designs are usually clearer to imagine, too.

As for your foal - I gave her a little bit of an outline, but there's still a lot for you to build on, and if you want to tweak what I've put, just say so

Haha - I never saw #4 in the cinema. I got it on DVD afterwards. I saw it last about a month ago? (questioning myself XD) but my Legend of the Seeker DVDs have arrived, so I'm on that again now Even so, I am a huge film fanatic - horror is pretty much my favourite genre. I can't stand rom-coms, though.

Ooh, no. I couldn't do a health trip. I don't even eat vegetables regularly. I'm so unhealthy its ridiculous. KFC and Macdonalds are life savers (really, its amazing I don't weigh as much as a horse XD) That's the good bit about being legally an adult - my parents don't force lettuce and carrots down my throat anymore

We can definitely do that! As for twins, we'll find out if that happens! It might just be safer to have them as siblings though. But! That's not for a while yet. We'll cross that bridge when we get there.

I love the patterns that come out with sabino! But to be completely honest, overo is actually my favourite! lol. I love bald and apron faces (though I didn't at first) and I love how the spots look like puzzle pieces. Hehe xD Tobiano's the one I like the least, for the most part. The spots seem too uniform to me in that they're all just blotches. Though to be honest, I quite love pintos. You're right though; because they're so distinct, everyone generally knows what to look for, which makes getting away with mistakes far more difficult than with most breeds.

Lol! My horses may start with a gender, but I never have a name until I'm done and staring at it like this: O.O It takes me AGES to come up with the right name! And if I do start with a name, it usually changes by the time I finish the picture, because at that point, it no longer suits the horse. rarg. I do that quite often as well: designing the horses to fit the humans. Especially with Mark and Roo's horses. I had absolutely no plan with Jack. Your couples match up really well though! I love how the horses and humans just emphasise each other's personalities.

Lol! I can't stand horror! Anticipation freaks me out! I have absolutely NO patience, so I can't stand not knowing what's coming next xD

Mmmmm KFC.... I'll definitely be looking forward to THAT when I move out. Assuming I don't spend all my money on random equine propaganda and spend the rest of my month hiding in a corner chewing on the walls to substitute food. Scary.

Definitely took my time answering this! I'm so sorry!

Sabino patterns definitely rock I just have a thing for the speckling But it sounds like we're complete opposites. I don't mind overos, but I don't like blue eyes, so that can be an issue XD. Generally, I'm happy with solid colours (maybe that's a throwback, since Arabians only come in solid?)

On the occasion I do have a design and not a name, I have that same problem! I will wait for ages to name something because nothing ever seems perfect (and it doesn't help that I prefer obscure names to usual ones ) Its really good to hear you think my pairs match up though. Sometimes that can work in your head, but doesn't translate so well on paper (screen. Whatever.)

Can't stand horror! Blasphemy XD. I just love it slasher and psychological are both epic. I'm not big on romances, but I do like comedies, too. (talk about opposite ends of the spectrum!) Those movies that are for the whole family, which have jokes for the kids, then ones that only the adults get are fantastic. Like Ice Age

Chewing on walls....hm...have you spoken to your therapist about this? XD This is why I love my parents, and the fact that being over 18 means they can't technically tell me what to do any more. Just last week, my dad rung me up and said mum had gotten him from the station, they'd stopped off at the shops and don't eat anything because they were bringing me KFC. I didn't even need to ask! Sometimes they're amazing (sometimes they make me empty the dishwasher, hoover the downstairs and sort out our DVD harddrive. They're not so awesome then, but the KFC tends to make up for it )
