My new tablet arrived today and I'm soooo happy! lol! It's first picture was tough to decide on, but at the end of the day, Dusty needed a more recent picture. So here she is! I'm mostly satisfied with it too! Despite the fact that I COMPLETELY forgot to shade Sunshine's body (look how big she is!) so it looks like she's standing under the pony instead of defying the laws of physics. I'l probably fix that tomorrow xD So this is my first picture for the Teepee-Trials , and Chris' first time out of New Zealand! Kind of. He's been to Australia once, but that hardly counts. He's very excited. As you can tell, Dusty's pretty minimally dressed here. Chris isn't the most creative of blokes, so he's gone with 'less is more'. Basically it's 'there's a feather there! It counts! It's a costume!' It it had been Grace like was originally planned, you can bet Dusty'd be way more decked out.

“No.”

“Malachi please! You gotta help a girl out! We’ve already signed up!” Grace begged, following Malachi from one painted stall to the next as he filled up one bucket of water after another. Her hands were waving everywhere; she looked like she was trying to land a plane.

No,” Malachi repeated, pulling a few strands of hay out of Butters’ mane as she dipped her head to drink. “I am not flying halfway around the world to live in a tent and call people ‘squaw’. It’s not happening. No.”

“Oh, come on Mal! Be a mate! Be my hero! We’ve already paid for the ticket!” Grace pleaded, clasping her hands together and shaking them in his face.

“Nope. It’s not my fault you didn’t cross reference your dates or whatever,” Malachi told her, his mind made up. Only the mighty wrath of Zeus himself could change it at this point. Maybe. It wasn’t even a sure thing.

“Oh, now, that’s not fair! Cynthia didn’t tell me she was coming until yesterday!” Grace pleaded with him. Her sister’s arrival wasn’t something she was looking forward to exactly, but there was no getting out of it. Despite the fact that the two never really got along, they’d been planning on going through their mothers’ belongings for nearly a year now, and Cynthia had never been able to make it over. “And it’s not like asked her to come, anyway! She just decided to show up!”

“You two must really love each other, huh?” Malachi asked sarcastically, hoisting a backpack over his shoulder. “I’m going home. Ask Chris.”

“Home? But it’s two in the afternoon – Chris! You’re a genius, I could kiss you!” Grace said, shoving past him and darting out the door. “CHRIS! I NEED A FAVOUR!” she yelled, hands cupped over her mouth as she darted toward the paddock Chris was napping in, looked over proudly by his demonic guard horse.

------------------------------------------------------------

And that was how Chris found himself here, in North Dakota. North Dakota! He’d never been to any of the Dakotas before. He’d never been to America either, so his excitement knew no bounds. It had been a bit of a hasty get away, what with only two weeks to pull everything together, but he didn’t regret it one bit. He’d never seen mountains like these – or were they cliffs?  Didn’t matter. They were brilliant, no matter what they were.

“Everybody out!” he instructed as the rental car pulled to a stop, followed by the slow rumbling halt of the trailer behind it. He slid out the front, and pulled the door open for a very happy Sunshine, who beamed at him with her wet nose and slobbery lips before leaping out.

All around them, horses were being unloaded and people were talking; the energy was contagious, as was evident by the circles Sunny was running around the truck and trailer. She stopped once or twice to bark at him, before turning on her heels and running around the opposite way, waiting for someone to chase her. When no one did, she just kept on chasing herself.

“Take it easy, you spastic ball of fur,” Chris insisted, though he had to admit he was feeling the jitters and butterflies as well, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t stop smiling. He lowered the trailer’s ramp as Sunny dropped onto her tummy and began to chew on the grass, and an impatient whinny greeted him. Dusty shifted her wait from one hoof to the other, showing him just how much his snail’s pace wasn’t amusing her.

“Yeah yeah,” he told her, scratching her behind the ear before leading her out into the sunshine. She gave him a whinny of pleasure and a little buck of jubilation before Chris left her to hover on her own. That was one thing you could count on with Dusty; she’d never leave you high and dry.

“Sunny! Common! Family picture!” he insisted, pulling his phone out of his trouser pocket and pointing it at Dusty.  Sunny leapt up to join the pretty mare, deciding that the perfect place to pose was also the most inconvenient as she situated herself right underneath the Arabian’s broad barrel, and smiled.

“Beauty!” Chris said, snapping the photo and scrolling through his contacts. “Send to Grace, Marianne, Malachi, Mr Black, aaaand Darlene. Perfect. Common you guys! Let’s find our sleeping spot.”

I adore this! Sunshine is so big now, and so pretty! Not to mention Dusty, who's mane and tail have gotten lighter in this, and gives her a bit of a faerie-type look. The minimal bridle and eagle feather is lovely, though - it doesn't need to be overly complex to work

I can't wait for more of these three from you ^^

Yep! Sunshine's aaaall grown up now! Kinda. She's around ten months old, so she's not growing no more, and we'll call it! lol! Thank you! I got quite overzealous with the colours in her mane I think, particularly with the pink shadows haha. It does match her foal colours more though xD I decided to use that as a ref instead of her adult picture, in an attempt to get the colours more correct. I think it worked, but I'm not entirely sure lol. And yes! Less is more! Sometimes. Other times, more is more.
