First thing's first: I apologize for the absolute bad-ness of this image. While I was doing the lines, my computer crashed. Like a genius, I didn't save. So I kind of gave up on it, and wound up half-ass-ing it the rest of the way, just so I could be done with it. So that explains the horrible bg, the sketchiness (particularly with Malachi, considering I didn't even bother to clean up the sketch x.x), the fact that there's colours leaking everywhere... sorry D: But at least it's done! And I got to colour our small girls again, which was fun! Particularly Butters, who I haven't drawn in AGES. I'd forgotten how much fun she was to colour xD

Well anyway, this is our current 'miniature' division (two of them will not be miniature for long). Hope you enjoy the story despite the mediocre image! lol!

Horses Present:

When Mal reappeared, he had three small ponies clopping down the ramp behind him. They were an odd but handsome bunch; two were foals, she knew, and they were the most peculiar foals she had ever seen. One was completely covered in stripes, and the other had flashes of yellows and greens and oranges in her black mane, and speckles down her neck and hindquarters. The last pony, she assumed, was just a pony; she was smaller than the foals, and looked very happy to be out of the trailer at last.

All the same, her first reaction was 'awwww' and the second was, "Those aren't real, are they?" she asked as Malachi walked up to her leading the three horses.

"They're not dolls," Malachi snarled at her. He knew that hadn't been what she meant, but he had made a sport out of getting on her nerves recently, and he found it wonderful fun.

Marianne rolled her eyes dramatically at him, making note of his idiocy. "You know what I mean, Malachi. Did someone attack her with a paintbrush? And what's with the zebra? Can I pet it?" she asked as the big, stripped foal batted her beautiful brown eyes at her.

"Yeah, I know what you mean. They're Nordanners; it's a breed mutation, but both are legal colours, and highly sought after as well. We were lucky; we got them both for virtually no money," he told her, leading the horses around her and past Pepper, who stood at the door, keeping her distance and sniffing at the strange new smell; she'd never actually encountered a horse before.

"Oh. Right," Marianne muttered, following him inside as he set the horses up in their stalls. Marianne put the folder down on the immaculately clean floor (that wouldn't last long) and watched the two oddly coloured foals, and then went over to pet the little pony, who looked very happy for the attention.

"What're their names?" she asked, cupping the pony's head in her hands as the little horse tried to lick her arm. "I like this one. Wish she was bigger," she said, mostly to herself. She couldn't ride a pony this small, she assumed.

"I dunno. Check the file," Malachi told her, giving Pepper a pat on the head as he slid back out into the cold to get the other horses. Marianne gave the pony a scratch behind the ear, kissed her on her velveteen muzzle and trotted back outside as Malachi unloaded 'the big sleepy one'.

"Oh, she's very pretty," Marianne commented as he led a big silver maned horse down the ramp. "She's got stripes on her legs... does that mean she a zebra Nordanner horse too?"

"HE -- is dun. It's a thing. Make yourself useful. Take this, and bring him to stall eleven," Malachi told her, thrusting the lead rope into her hands and shooing her away, giving the big, lazy stallion a pat on the withers.

"Really?" Marianne asked, half skeptically, half excitedly as she took the lead rope somewhat gingerly. He was quite a large horse, and if he spooked or panicked and ran, she wouldn't know what to do with him.

"Really. He's a good boy," Mal told her in a 'this conversation is over' sort of way. "CHRIS! Get away from that horse and open up the other trailer," he yelled as he trotted back outside, leaving Marianne alone with 'the big sleepy one'.
