Description
[EDIT] - I did'nt like the white border, replaced old logo with new, plus colour changes.I came accross this image a while ago, and today while i was bored I had a look through my images decided to vectorise this.
From what i can gather her name is : chihiro onitsuka, and the image is from her single - infection.
Before anyone starts whigeing, I know the clothes are simplier than the hair, it was intended. Although i may change my mind and add more detail.
Full view would be apreciated, as I drew every single strand of hair by hand!!!
Time: 8+ hours
Software: Illustrator for image, PS for framing and text only.

How do you detail hair like this? Is there a tutorial somewhere? Just zoom in close and go for it? So many questions!!

Well i just draw a shape for each strand of hair, then pick a colour and set the transparency for each hair. THeres no tutorial that im aware of, i just developed the technique over time.

sometimes it's hard to think of things to say. I hate to say "WOW" every time and "thats nice".
but what I'm really trying to say is that I love your work in your style. I love the way you try different things on everything you do.
I know a lot of people call this vector art because it's made in a vector program. what I really call it is ART. you are a true artists and it shows in your work.
I look at your work over and over again because it gives me inspiration. I'm writing this because I don't always comment on your work. you get so many comments
and hear the same things over and over again. to me everything you do is a favorite or a DD. so keep it up you will be great one day.
Oh! about this piece. another outstanding job. :+love:

Thank you so much, I really appreciate you taking the time to write this.
It's great that so many people are inspired by my work, just as I was inspired by other artists when I first joined DA.
I try my best to vary my work becasue I see allot of artsits here being trapped producing the same work, which is somthing i have always been concious of and tried to avoid. So its a relief when people comment on the variety of my work.
oh and thankyou for all the favs too, it was unexpected but much appreciated.

Truly an awe inspiring image.
Much of your work reminds me of the mighty Robert Lindstrom (www.designchapel.com). Check out his work if you have the time, I think you'll like it.
Oh, and the Hopper influence is clearly evident throughout your gallery. You must of been born with a pencil in your hand!
Take it ez, ben.

Cheers for the comments, yeah Roberty Lindstrom was a major influence on me aswell as hopper. It was after seeing Lindstroms work that I realised what culd be achieved with vector.
