I wanted to try the same kind of illustration but with a sans serif typeface. The drawing is done in illustrator then overlayed onto a photo of my sketchpad.Related content

man i'm so crazy about these stuff but haven't discovered yet how to do that smooth elegant curves. do i need a tablet(wacom) or this can be done with just a mouse?
its so hard to do long or curly vector curves with fading stroke like that, i can only do that the hard way like making paths with the pen tool from end to end and side to side of each strand, thats bloody man. or something like sketching it first and tracing it on illustrator and modifying it there.

I wanted to do something like that. Then when I tried it, The text looked too faked. As if the paper was real but the design over it wasn't...

so Lee do you make the vectors with a wacom tablet thing? I love how smooth the curves are, I could never get curves that clean with a mouse

Yeah, up until recently I did most of my vector work on an intuos 3 tablet. I've sold it, but gonna get a bigger one soon
