[EDIT] - I did'nt like the white border, replaced old logo with new, plus colour changes.I came accross this image a while ago, and today while i was bored I had a look through my images decided to vectorise this.
From what i can gather her name is : chihiro onitsuka, and the image is from her single - infection.
Before anyone starts whigeing, I know the clothes are simplier than the hair, it was intended. Although i may change my mind and add more detail.
Full view would be apreciated, as I drew every single strand of hair by hand!!!

Software: Illustrator for image, PS for framing and text only.

yup thats the exact inamge i used, i was gonna call it 'infection' too, but it thought id call it 'addiction' instead as i wanted to reffernce my addiction to vectoring.

I adore the painting, the colours work to convey fantastical feel. IT's a beautiful frozen moment. The only thing that bugs me is the white on the bottom. It ditracts from the painting and overpowers the green. Sorry if the critique is unwelcome.

critique is never unwelcome, but i must say that i can't listen to everything people sayptherwise id be making either several versions or changing it multiple times.
In the case im sticking to my decison with the white, because a) for it to conform to one of the specified print submission ratios, and b) balance out the darkness of the image.

yeah, im was never keen on photorealistic vectors, but recently my work has approached that simply as my experience has increased. I can't help it sometimes lol.

And just a question? What is your working canvas size? The detail for the hair is jaw-dropping.

I work at A3 i illustrator so the size is irrelevant when your working in Illustrator since its vector and not raster based. But when i export the image from illo to ps, normally 300dpi at least. (i normally use PNG). so the image when rasterised is about 5000x 3000 normally.
