Description
This is a bio page for my collection of NFC Figures, in The Crossover Game, my massive crossover idea. This is a rather strange biography since it represents not only one, but many different characters at once, yet at the same time, doesn't represent any characters at all. Rather, it represents their figures, which can summon them into battle. Though they are categorized into different "forms" of each other, they actually don't represent variations of the same character, since every figure, aside from those I have multiple variations of (such as "Smash Bros" Mario and "Mario Bros" Mario), represents a different character.
For the difference between Forms and Variations, see here: leehatake93.deviantart.com/art…
The movesets in the imaginary game are a cross between Super Smash Bros and PlayStation All-Stars. As in Smash, each character has four special moves and a Final Smash. Mimicking All-Stars, each character has multiple finishing moves, rather than only one. A Super Smash, which mimics Smash Bros' version of a Final Smash, can result in a transformation or inflict a lot of damage, however, it is not guaranteed to result in an instant KO. On the other hand, a Final Smash, like a Level 3 Super Move from All-Stars, is guaranteed to instant KO opponents, providing that it can hit its target.
As mentioned in the biography's description, the fictional counterparts of the figures serve as mediums between the real characters and their real-life figurines. For Harry Potter fans, consider it as something similar to Voldemort's Horcruxes. They represent the character they are modeled from, but are not the characters themselves, instead being "memories" of them or containing a part of their "souls".
An interesting thing to note about the NFC Figures within the Crossover canon as opposed to their real-life counterparts is that they actually are a bridge between the real world and the video game worlds they inhabit. This means that the figures' appearance and actions within the video game universe actually reflect on what they may or may not experience in the real world. For example, let's say you have a LEGO Dimensions figure of Batman, and you decide to build his figure without his cowl. When brought into the video game world, he wouldn't wear his cowl since the physical figure wouldn't be wearing it. Another example would be a custom amiibo. Let's say you decide to repaint a Super Mario Bros Mario amiibo to resemble the Builder Mario from Super Mario Maker. Whatever physical changes the figure goes through, such as a repaint and new accessories, would be reflected on when the figure is summoned in the video game world. Same goes for any figures that may become damaged, such as one chewed on by a dog, or one that's missing an arm.
If you're wondering why Skylanders isn't included, the fact is that I'm simply not interested in that franchise. I am interested in the Donkey Kong and Bowser figures from the new Skylanders game, but the rest of the series just isn't my thing.
Anyway, onto the "Forms"
FORMS:
amiibo: The very first series of NFC figures that I started collecting. In addition to the fighters in Super Smash Bros, my collection includes Toad from Super Mario Bros and the Inklings from Splatoon, with more amiibo figures coming soon. The amiibo are represented by Mario and Link since they are the first figures I purchased after the release of Super Smash Bros.
Disney Infinity: The second series of figures that I collect is Disney Infinity, primarily for my fascination with Marvel and Star Wars, but also because I'm a fan of several Disney franchises, like Aladdin, Mulan, Toy Story, etc. Represented by Black Spider-Man since he is included in the Starter Pack for Disney Infinity 2.0 on Vita, and both Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano because they were included in the pack for Infinity 3.0.
LEGO Dimensions: The final series of figures that I plan to collect are the LEGO Dimensions minifigures. They are represented by Batman, WyldStyle, and Gandalf since those are the figures included in the Starter Pack for the game.
EDIT (7/7/2016): Updated Game Legacy and modified systems for LEGO Dimensions and Disney Infinity 3.0.
NOTE: I did not include Skylanders as I have no interest in the series. Although I plan to get the Crash Bandicoot figure, I do not plan to start playing the game itself.
