Oh yeah, that episode when her town especially her ex b-friend kinda gave up to the neighboring motorbike gang terrorizing the town. Man,Rook really got herself hardened ever since that day.

Awesome.

Rook was my #1 girl from that part of the series. She was smart, sassy, "obtainable" good looks, and she liked to pilot mechabikes. What more could a young red-blooded American guy want?
Your mecha detailing is excellent as always, although I am not so sure if Rook's red race would look quite so clean normally. Maybe it rained earlier? Β Rook looks like she's been having a lot of outdoors fun and enjoying every minute of it.

Rook is great. Β Probably one of my favorite characters too. Β It DID rain earlier, though I probably could have done more to capture that. Β The puddles of water are a bit underdone to convey a fresh spring morning. Β A happier moment in an otherwise miserable existence under the rule of the Invid!
Thanks for the comments!

Oh, nice! I love Rook second only to Miriya (and Claudia). Great drawing of her and the Cyclone, too. I'm not quite in love with the shadows being cast by the trees, but that's about my only criticism. Rook and the Cyclone are fantastic.

One of the lighter moments during the war. Loved Rook, so tough yet vulnerable.

Indeed. I thought my gallery need a babe on a bike. I also always felt the original design of Rook bounced back and forth between seeming very childish and at other times more adult. I wanted to put a firm stake in the ground that she was more the latter. I like this version a little better

Thanks Cronarca! Yes I will likely revisit this subject in the near future. I ahve recently had inspiration to do a full MOSPEADA/NG scene, but it will be a doosie, and take quite a while, Stay tuned!

Long time I've seen any nice-looking "Robotech New Generation" art, and this one's has neat outlines on Rook and her bike. The shines must be a lot of effort to give the metalic feel to the bike. Did you use a toy bike as a reference model to determine how the shines would appear on your drawing or did you just imagine how they'd appear?
Anyway, excellent work!

Yeah, it is pretty rare to see anything new out there. Believe it or not the "Shines" as you call them (great word btw) were actually pretty easy. Using a fresh layer I grab a lighter shade of the based red and just liberally throw them around. Then I can erase to shape and voila! SHINES!
I've found that the shines are a hallmark of the 80's anime. They really add depth and character to things.
Thanks for the fave and the interest!
