Some people have been asking quite a bit about Kenzie as of late, so I decided to upload a full body with a color palette, plus her updated and official background and personality! Wooohooooo!

McKenzie Rose Stewart was born in New York City. It was a rough side of town to be honest. Although her parents were essentially good people, they became involved with a gang that demanded money for protection. And when they couldn't pay, they took Kenzie, only 5 years old) to teach them a lesson. Since they really had no use for a little girl, they decided to sell her off to some lab as payment for the money they didn't receive from her parents. The lab gladly purchased her and soon began to perform experiments. Every test they'd conducted since then had failed, so they figured she wouldn't survive anyways.

But she did. Kenzie was the first successful experiment to survive and still remain sane and humane. However, they couldn't seem to replicate the results in other test subjects. So they began to draw blood, bone marrow samples, and other excruciating experiments. But one day.. a mutant showed up at her cell. She was older than she was, ten maybe. She only grinned and lifted a key card, opened her cell, and that was the last she saw of her, unable to find her during her escape from the lab. To this day, Kenzie isn't sure if she simply imagined her, or if she had actually existed.

Kenzie ran, and she ran, and she ran. She hid, she crept, and sneaked until she was out in the country side. It felt like she had been running forever, and she hadn't eaten barely anything for weeks. It wasn't until she found an abandoned barn that she felt any safety at all. She found herself collapsing into a pile of hay, and sleeping for what felt like days. But she was soon discovered.

To her surprise, the old man didn't seem startled by her appearance. In fact, he didn't mention it at all. He told her it wasn't a good idea to sleep outside in such cool weather, even if in a barn. He invited her inside where she quickly discovered that he was blind. Warm pancakes and a few stories later, he had agreed to let her stay there with him (considering her situation that she had sobbingly spilled to him), and teach her to defend herself so long as she did chores around the house for him. It turned out that he was a retired karate sensei.

And so, she lived there with him for ten years, and he raised her as if she were his own daughter; she even called him father. But he was very old, and one day, he simply didn't wake up. Heartbroken, Kenzie packed what little things she would be able to take with her and left for the city, stopping by a pay-phone to notify the authorities; she didn't want her father to sit and rot. Unsure of where to go, Kenzie decided the only decision she had was to some how survive in the city. Now, she sleeps in sheds atop buildings by night, and does her best to stay out of sight by day. It's not glorious, but it suffices.

Kenzie is pretty friendly. Although she is very much a lady, raised modest and gentle, she can be very boyish sometimes, loving to tease and joke around, though chooses to remain silent unless she really has something to say. She is also quite the curious being, sometimes crossing the line between curious and nosy. She hates herself for what she is, and, quite honestly, thinks she's a monster, and the only one of her kind (apart from the girl that freed her). When first met, she is very jumpy and nervous, constantly on the verge of running away. But once she gets used to someone, she is a very loving friend. In a nutshell, she is adventurous, quiet, curious, and gentle, but has serious self-esteem and self-hate issues. Family is a tender subject, and incredibly hard for her to talk about.

Any resemblance to characters of other works by other creators is completely coincidental. TMNT is owned by Nickelodeon (I think?) and its creator(s), but the character and design of Kenzie is mine. The artwork is also mine, however, so please do not post elsewhere without my permission. Do not trace, reproduce, or steal in any shape or form. If you want something drawn for you, I'm open to point commissions, art trades, and the like! There really is no reason to steal!
