Description THIS IS AN INCOMPLETED WORK FOR SHOW. This work is missing LOTS of details, but it is still in progress, and will take a WHILE longer to finish; that being said, since it is going to take awhile, I thought I'd show what this looks like as I go along. First, let me say what this is for: This is going to be the beginning level in a psychological/horror survival game called "Prison of Mind." I'll get into the details of what the game is about, but first let me say what I plan to add. This room of course lacks all the furnishings, but besides that, the walls are blank. THIS LEVEL IS GOING TO BE DESIGNED TO RESEMBLE RESIDENT EVIL/SILENT HILL. In other words: Bloody, disgusting, old, decaying, etc. I do have yet to add, blood, mold, water damage, dust, spider webs, bullet holes, paint chips/cracks/ wall cracks, rotting walls, mouse holes, burn marks, sun damaged, etc. In other words, it's going to look so COOL. The room is also going to be filled with lots of furnishings that the game character could interact with. There would be the following furniture: A writing desk, uncomfortable metal bed (torcher table for stretching people? metal bed with leather straps? mat?), night stand, book shelf, bureau, TV stand, computer desk, as well as a computer, books, and loads of other things. In the first level the player finds the lights are out, the doors are locked, and the windows are boarded up.

FEATURES: Ok, this game would probably be rated mature. For starters, the player has an empty journal, and a dip pen. However, the catch is that they don't have any ink. What does the player do? Have going through much psychological stress, he/she figures out that to save his/her progress, he/she will have to use his/her blood(Okay, that's it, I'm going to start talking in second person in some cases so get over it). You have a garage so you will be able to keep as many cars/vehicles as you can fit in your garage. You also have access to things like scooters and bikes, even motor bikes. There are also weapons in the game; almost anything could be a weapon (sound familiar, if not, check out Dead Reckoning). Every scar that is inflicted upon you remains there. Since it can be very dark at time you do get to use a flash light. Also, you are provided, at first, with a limited supply of incense that acts as a monster repellent, however, it only works really in enclosed places where the incense has a chance to build up the concentration of it's sent. You can't go running through the middle of a field with the incense lit because as your moving/running, the smoke is trailing behind you, besides the fact that the smoke is distilling into the whole area, which won't provide very useful because it's not concentrated (ENOUGH WITH THE SUPER DETAILS ALREADY!! fine fine). Okay, now I'll tell you about the backstory, just a general summing up.

"Prison of Mind" is called such because it's just that. A newly hired, and cynical at that, scientist is hired for the military to create super soldiers that will obey order's without hesitation, but more than that; soldiers that are not afraid of PAIN. The military wants soldiers that are suicidal enough to storm into battle at the most impossible odds. To do that, you have to take away their FEAR. The scientists conclusion: psychological treatment. Now, instead of going through physical training, soldiers would go into a virtual world full of PAIN. Technology has progressed enough that this particular scientist was able to unlock secrets of the brain. He found out how to make a person feel pain, without doing damage to their body what-so-ever. This involves linking a computer program directly to the brain to stimulate a person's senses and nerves. However, in order for this scientist to be hired by the government, he has to prove that his methods work. Since this technological breakthrough is turn of the century advancement in the human genome project, he has a chance to get EXTREMELY rich. After all, every government in the world would be begging at his feet to create the ultimate super soldier. But first, he needs test subjects. Unfortunately laws have changed, and his methods could be considered inhumane. The scientist is able to "buy" a small town for his experiments; he really bribed all the important people, and took over the town, to use the towns people as pawns for his experiments to follow.

In the game, if a person was able to make it through the tribulations of the psychological torture, then they are released from the "Prison of Mind." The subjects would then proceed through the real tests to determine how well the psychological tests worked. This last test, would involve the subject to try to escape from the town. If they were determined enough, and if they no longer felt pain, they would make it past the inner wall, thus the experiment would succeed. Then from there the scientist could brainwash the victim and use him/her as evidence for his experiment's success.

The players goal, in the first game, is to escape the "Prison of Mind." His/her REAL goal is to expose the scientists intentions to the media, and to the government. CAN YOU ESCAPE THE PRISON OF MIND, AND EXPOSE THE BIGGEST SCANDEL IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD?

I noticed that the hardest part of this picture for my computer to render, are the door knobs, and door hinges. When it wasn't rendering those it was rendering fairly quickly. I think it was calculating the reflections, that's why it took so long. Thanks for taking a look at my picture !!

Um, I am planning on going to RIT to become a video game programmer, to get a bachelors degree, and master's in game programming. I got to see a bunch of their projects. In particular, the people in the programming area weren't able to get alot of support from the artists in game design, so the graphics could have been better. The graphics weren't bad, but like I said, they didn't have alot of support. I figure, since they're looking for well rounded people, and they need help with the art aspect, that I might have a better chance of getting into RIT to do both programming, and help create the graphics for games we make.

So this game, the graphics I am creating for it, are for my portfolio I'm going to submit. If I can actually make a game along these lines, I would definitely do it. Either way, I plan to make the game eventually, if not in college.

Thanks, I like that idea alot . I was thinking some of the blood stains on the walls could be written words something like "Death is only the beginning." You know, that kind of thing; or even having it carved into the wood instead of written in blood. Any ideas on sayings?

Maybe somethign similar to 'Death is only the beginning' like 'There is no life' or 'You won't be living much longer.'

Thanks ! Oh yeah, this level here is actually a recreation of my room, without the damage that I'm going to add, of course. I CAN'T wait to show you more updates as I make everything. If you have any recommendations, please feel free to recommend anything you have in mind. I want to make this scene look really dark, creepy, perhaps even scary. I am eventually going to add candle light, as the power is out to begin with in the first level, but that gets a little more complicated than just sun light, and lamp light.

Oh yeah, this picture took 8 hours, 2 minutes, and 50/100 of a second to render, I think it was calculating renderosity. Oh yeah, I used Rhinocerous 3D to model, and Cinema 4D to render. I have lots to finish in this model yet, so please tell me how you like it as I add more.
