Now here come the helper NPCs, besides those bears from DKC3!

Of course, some remnants from the DKverse still stand. Swanky is still DK's brother, Cranky and Wrinkly are still their parents, and Funky is still Chunky and Kiddy's father. But since then I've changed things up a little. I remember in the DKverse Snide was this crazy emotionally-fluctuating little flake who was gay for that bunny in Fungi Forest. That was because I had no idea what his namesake word meant at the time, but now that I know the answer (and have known for a little while), he's just bitter most of the time now with a sharp tongue and a sense of sarcastic humor. Also I still don't know what he's supposed to be. A fox? A weasel? A ferret of some kind?

Funky now wears red sunglasses and carries what looks to be a giant firecracker on his back. And Cranky still carries a cane wherever he goes, but I'm just not including it here. And apparently Snide is supposed to wear a jumpsuit, so there it is. I've overhauled the others' appearances just a tiny bit, and no, I'm still not going full fanservice and giving Candy any body melons to complement her actual melons that she gives you to upgrade your health. And speaking of whom, it's become apparent to me looking back that maybe it was Candy who's been crushing on DK this whole time and not the other way around. In fact, I've proposed a new headcanon that maybe they wed sometime between 3 and 64, and the reason the two don't have any kids yet is because they're not ready for it yet. I remember it took my sister and brother-in-law 6 years between their marriage and the conception of my nephew Rory!
