You know Rick, Ben, and Friends of The D-Pad? Part of their Mega Lets Play saga includes a few weird eggs like Gold Empire, Rockboard, and of course Strategy.

And it was in this playthrough, which by the way happens to currently be the only playthrough on all of the entire Internet ever, where I discovered a few things. The ROM is poo, the text lags when someone says something that has ellipses, the menus are all either written in Chinese or Syntax Jargon, and the last, most important thing - those "mecha soldiers/machine soldiers" I heard about? Those weren't just mecha soldiers, which means I couldn't jokingly imagine them as Soldier TF2 anymore. They were four different kinds of robots for each of nature's basic elements!

And they all have different roles in the Fire Emblem-like playing overworld field, too. We have goggled Fire Soldiers for the Attack stat, adorable birdlike Wind Soldiers for Speed, tank-treading Soil Soldiers for Defense, and hosey Water Soldiers to heal allies.

So this marks a very monumental moment for me - it's not only the very first time I've ever actually drawn Talos/Trio/Abbadon/Evil Robot/whoever, but it's also (hopefully, if not I won't complain) the very first fanart publicly uploaded onto the entire Internet of both the Friendly and Dark variants of these Soldiers!

First up, a bit of lore I came up with - ordinarily, these aren't Soldiers, they're moreso maintenance robots. The Fire Soldiers are on welding duty, the Wind Soldiers can go up precarious heights that many hominids would be too scared for, the Soil Soldiers are mainly on demolition duty, and the Water Soldiers clean things off. One of each element on both sides of the coin has teamed up with Duo and Talos, basically in their debt.

So, here are the Friendly Soldiers (sta.sh/0745z3wrtwm ):

Fire - Steemer
Wind - Plumage
Soil - Silt
Water - Briney

And their direct foils, the Dark Soldiers (sta.sh/02bg6v459g5b ):

Fire - Vulcan
Wind - Zephyr
Soil - Avalanche
Water - Typhoon

Unfortunately, with Talos having been separated from the Dark Soldiers for a while now, they take to hanging on Earth around Monstero County Jail, where Wily's being holed up (until he gets his fingers cooking for another plotting scheme), occasionally reporting to his lab to talk to the Mega Man Killers, mainly to relay any information that a mere 60 seconds isn't enough to cover. They currently have a tracker that shows where their boss is, but it looks like they'll have to go to space themselves.
