just more PAX stuff. these are more finalized and are pretty close to final. note the sniper. we though a revolver/bolt action would be cool so we did it!Related content

Also, having the bolt where the face might potentially be (when using the scope/sights) is also a pretty bad idea, needless to say

lol, whenever i draw side views of guns i have all the details facing the viewer. so in the 'real thing' usually the bolt, shell eject and maybe a few other things are flipped around. but way to notice that, i usually have to tell the modelers

Most of them look perfectly realistic and well designed. Good work! Many don't know a thing about guns when they design them, and they come out looking..very bizarre and unbelievable.
One thing though, the Japanese assault rifle:
1. Without a stock of any sorts, it's useless basically useless. Can't aim it, can't handle the recoil. A scope would be a waste. Except cutting people with the bayonett maybe.
2. The Bayo is alongside the front handguard, which can leave some pretty undesirable marks in your hand if you grip it wrong.. lol. Bayonettes are stabbing/impaling weapons, not cutting.

as to the japanese assault rifle... blah, the lack of stock is part of the design doc . they wanted it basically really long barrels like musket style, but very short stocks... i think i made it work ok tho, regardless of realisticism (that should be a word). as to the bayonet, i was going for a mix between a knife and a katana, for maybe a more traditional type of melee weapon. unless this is being fired from the hip (which is a pretty realistic use considering the stock), the hand probably shouldn't be all the way up there
. unfortunately, the design doc has changed again, and there probably won't be a japan, so that sucks a lot, but such is life.

Realisticism? Aren't you complicating the simple word "realism"?
Long barrel + short stock = bullpup I understand though, if they specified it you can only accept it. The design wouldn't work in real life (how would you aim? how would you handle any recoil? etc) but I guess they aren't that concerned with it.
Are you getting paid then? They should stop changing the docs.. lol.

i wish i was getting paid...
i was always told that a bullpup was defined by the clip being placed behind the handle... hmm...
the design docs piss me off, but such is life... it was going to be axis vs allies with all teams in place, now its just germany vs the allies who are all 1 team... so lots of stupid stuff has happened thus far... like me needing to trash the usa soldier armor............

The problem with drums is that they take up a lot more room than flat or "stick" magazines. That's why they're used today instead of drums or cylinders.

That is correct. Also, with sniper rifles, having autoreloading is good for followup shots, but if you want ultimate stability you can lock the bolt and simply cycle through shots manually afterwards. Or some delayed blowback.
Not much reason to use drum anymore. Only some highcapacity mags, but their drums don't look like the old type.

Cool weapons, I really like the one at the top, it woulde have bean much cooler if you lose the scope and made it and shotgun or assaulte rifle.

thanks allot, your comments have weight. i agree, these are the best from that large brainstorm, and atm probably the best i have ever devised. seriously, im sad im turning over the sniper idea right now... it would be a great card for say.. EA . too bad i can't play the game, i so want to use the sniper. other than that, the thompson 2 isn't that much different from the original, and the japanese weapon turned out way better than i had planned. the lead wanted the japanese to have basically no stock, and i didn't think that would work out as good as it did. hopefully you will be seeing more quality stuff soon!

I agree.. The sniper barrel should be longer but it look's real nice!! I like that one... and the Japanese assault rifle looks pretty cool.

The sniper rifle needs a longer barrel, as the travel through the barrel, rotating, is what stabilizes the round, after all, allowing it to be more accurate over longer ranges.
