Here is my first round of doodles for the EVE online ship contest.i've played EVE for 2-3 years, 2-3 years ago, so i really do love the game- i'd play it allot in a different life!
if you aren't familiar with the game, i want to know what you like and don't like, but i am especially curious what people who play eve think... these would be minmatar ships, power to the duct tape!

Not to bad. I would focus on 4, 6.2 and 1. Or 6.1 and 6.2. 6.1 can be a TECH 1 Cruiser and 6.2 a TECH 2 Cruiser. 4 looks like it could be a battleship. And 1 should be Tech 1 and 2 Frigates and should be sold at frigate prizes.

Competition, lol I probably wont hold a candle to you guys, but who knows. Playing the game probably would help me though. I'm not familiar with it though, is there anything specific about the ships that I should know?

well, first of all, research the race you wanna choose's ships, that always helps

I like 1 and 6.1 . Played the game and personally liked the Galante thorax and using minmitar guns

i think i am leaning towards 6... the minmatar need more vertical ships
might push 4 ahead a bit, and i really don't like 3 and 5

yeah, mainly freehand, i break out the straight line tool in sketchbook pro when i need to really chisel out a line tho

you're using alchemy right? i use sketchbook pro because i haven't ever found something that has given me better line quality for sketching, or a simple and fast enough interface.
sbp has a symmetry tool, straight line, elipse and a bunch of really simple but functional tools. i can move, zoom, and toggle last tool from my stylus, drag in a circle to resize my tool, and have one key bound to undo on the tablet and i am set!

For this image I havent used alchemy. I only occasionally use it if I want a certain effect.
