Description more crazzzzy caps!

i need to start thinking of an acronym for RHINO... hmm, another day i suppose.

this puppy took 40 HOURS using cinema 4d, but to be fare, i upped the radiosity accuracy up to 800 dots over 200 and recomputed it.

still not done... like i said... im really thinking about adding a trailer and all sorts of fun stuff. also this was rendered after i added in the basic form of the missile pack, so it has no detail at all.

things to add for sure. side miniguns under the intercepting armor, turntable motor assembly + other odds and ends for the back, more micro detail, different armaments for the back (its a modular vehicle) and whatever else seems cool between now and than.

any comments suggestions etc would be most appreciated.

I have another Highschool doodle that matches this machine. I believe I called it the Rex. Did awful[unpeakable] things with independent suspension and turret mounts[motors in the wheels] Mine and yours are pretty much the same, whereas I, kept a flat cabin. Yours is definitely more ingenious, but makes me want to go back and start updating it with all the military tidbits I've seen over the years.

It is also apart of a series of segmented, swappable machines/trailers...even 2-man bunkers that can be attacked to the front and rear...bunkers that are also stackable/linkable for air transport and perimeter hotswap. While manned.

I'm so a fan now. You've inspired me personally.

it was originally intended to be a mobile missile platform, but it was never finished. i also had plans to give it a trailer of some kind.

as for textures, they will never come

why don't you finish it?? :b

And why not? textures would get it even better

i don't really 3d model anymore... i hold the knowledge of the skill, but its nothing im too interested in

as for texturing, i don't have any ability in that field short of changing colors of polygons.

Umm, sorry I think I have asked this before. But what program do you use to build these models and what render technic do you use??

just good old fashion cinema 4d for the modeling and the render. as for the render, its just me hitting the render button with a few fine tuned radiosity settings, thats all

Cause it looks mighty nice. it looks like some kind of final gather. But well, I've never used cinema 4d so I have no idea on how it works.

Great model
do you mean 40h of rendering? Seems tto mutch and there are not still materials!

Legato895 In reply to net-surfer [2005-10-07 09:00:02 +0000 UTC]

yep, 40 hours of render time. what bumped it up was doing a hdri render with 800 sample points on 100 accuracy. a straight render with one light source and soft shadows only takes a minute or so.

May be time go down changed value o minimal and maximal samples whit good quality, 40 h it's too mutch for a hdr good render too...

well, i've wasted quite a bit of time with some trial and error, i figured when i was done i would post at c4d cafe and get their opinion but with samples even at 400-500 (haven't tried 6-7) there are lots of wired shading glitches especially on the vent tiles and the flat ground around the wheels. i also haven't found an optimal level for minimum and maximum because there are lots of bits with lots of detail, and lots of fairly flat objects.
