Description
wow! that was a lot of caps-lock action up there!anyway, this is my first shot using hdri. i know it came out bright, and that the front wheel and top of the dome is really washed out, but you get the idea, its just a matter of knocking it down a bit from here on out!
honestly though, you could render a cube using hdri and it would look awesome just sitting there.
this is as current as the model is right now and may not get some tender loving for awhile as i need to do some MPS related modeling. i will finish this however. i kinda want to 'find' a plugin for cinema 4d that lets me give a nice vector/toon look so i may try around with that when i can.
as you can see i have the intercepting armor on the sides and a more filled out internal framework which by the way, isn't yet done.
comments, idea, suggestions, hate, love and any other textual outburst will be most appreciated and taken with stride!
thank you in advance.
(and as suggested by venerable mr. i will be giving a slight bevel to part of the cockpit so it isn't such a crisp edge)

Nice man!! Hey.. It's got a penis cannon!! haha! Really this thing is UGLY!! Which is good if you ask me.
Great job soo far. Going to texture it and all that jazz??
Oh.. I have an idea.. You can just ignore it but I think it would be cool to have TWO of these hooked together with a bendable walkway/connection. It could be like a land train!!

what was that? i kinda zoned out after you said penis
lol, anyway, the extent of the textures i am going to give it will be varying shades of grey i think, my texture skills stop at assigning each shape one color
a trailer is an awesme idea! i just need to start modeling, and stop trying to figure out radiosity o_O

hm.... ok I dunno, if you dont enable quantise it looks alright. It helps with washed out peices. Well if your model is made of separate objects that is.

ah..... I never got what the point of that was. Like If you need drawings wouldn't it be easier to just draw em? coz the sketch and toon thing is really dodgy in my opinion. Like there is alto of tweaking and it looks, well drawn. Like the whole point of 3d is to make something you can't really make in real life. Well I thought it was anyway.

i've never used another 3d program other than cinema 4d, so im not sure how other people do it, and the terminology may be different, but i make a polygon spline, reduce its radius a ton, raise how many sides it has to a good round looking number (using a polygon with many sides gives me more control than using a circle spline) i than create the path i want the pipe/tube to follow with a free form spline, round the edges to the degree i want, and than i drag both splines into a "sweep NURBS" object. that takes object a, and extrudes it along a path (object b).
hope that helps in any way

if your good enough im pretty sure (from my experience with 1 program) that almost all prominent 3d programs can create the same image in the same speed, etc. i just taught myself cinema 4d. its gui is amazing and its what im used to. using 3ds max scares me, because as a industry leader its gui is stagnate in order to not confuse its industry base. thats why its just crap

wow o.O it looks like clay or something. A camoflage texture would fit the shape, but it is probably a bit over used.

thats what my friend said! hes like "it looks like a plastic model"
anyway, i plan on giving it at least basic textures... it will probably be verying shades of grey but yeah, some light grey cammo would be awesome! i just can't skin worth a crap
