Description
A panel from my digital illustration final. I'm so far behind on this thing. It was due Tuesday, classes officially ended Thursday, and I'm still working on it. Hopefully I'll finish and email it to my professor by the end of the weekend because I sure as hell don't want to work on it over Christmas break.Anyway, I'm trying a bit of a different coloring style, using color dodge and burn for highlights and shadows. That's probably why the colors are so intense and shiny.

Thanks. I spent a good deal of time studying the sequence in the movie, taking stills, etc. Reference materials are awesome.

Yeah, it's tricky. Before I used photoshop I used to do a lot with colored pencils. Getting those to look metallic is a real pain. With this piece I honestly didn't know what I was doing but I stumbled onto a pretty good result and it saved me a lot of time so I'm happy.

Thanks. I actually had a screen from the movie for reference. Part of the project was using actual photographs as reference materials for the line work. I very roughly sketched over the lines in Photoshop and used those to make a tight drawing, so half the stuff looks almost photo-realistic despite being illustrations. In a few cases, I used a combination of Photoshop filters and digital painting to create the artwork. The whole thing was rather experimental and not your traditional comic.

Usually I don't get to but there weren't any restrictions like that on this project.

Lol. I can hope for an A but since I'm about a week late, probably more likely a B.

Very nice. I like the perspective, the colours and posture.
Remembered this part from the movie when SAM sent the allspark's power through the ground.
