Megatron officially joins the cast of Transformers: Exiles! Questioning his past as Decepticon leader and horrific warlord following his possession by Unicron, Megatron has returned to Earth in a desperate bid to make amends. To stay hidden from hostile human and Decepticon forces he takes the guise of a rusted fuel tanker, a form whose similarities to that of his old nemesis Optimus Prime have not gone unnoticed. I love the concept of this! I was a big fan of his DOTM tanker form, and this redesign seems right at home with the Prime aesthetic! Even more than that, him taking on an Earth form as a form of pennance makes sense considering his previously prideful nature that caused him to refuse even scanning an Earth form before. Good work!

There's a story reason, but mostly I just love his DOTM design, but felt it was terribly underutilized (like most things in the movies). So I thought I'd give it another shot in my head cannon.

Thanks! I'm taking a bit of a hiatus on Megatron to tackle a few other projects so it's going to be quite a while before I get around to tackling his (or anyone else's) alt modes. But it's basically his Dark of the Moon tanker form, but with a flatnosed cab instead of the longnosed version.

I never actually looked at the voyager Ultra Magnus while working on him, but yeah I can see the resemblance. I was actually trying to incorporate some elements from his More Than Meets The Eye/Lost Light design (one of my favorite versions of Megatron and Megatron designs) along with the obvious DOTM reference.

I liked the third act, and it's not an atrociously bad movie or anything like that, it's just weird. The editing is really awkward in a lot of places (especially early on) and it somehow doesn't feel like a complete movie (though I really couldn't tell you how that is, it's just a feeling). Cogman and Sir Edmund Burton are awesome, though, and so is Nitro Zeus (he'll be seeing more of him from me

Bizarrely, my local Walmart just got FOUR cases of the Scorn/Nitro wave, while I only saw Hound and Megatron once before they scrapped The Last Knight end cap. O_O

It's mostly the knees and lower shins, with a bit in the way the armor wraps around the forearms.
