DO NOT USE [this version of] MISSINGN0 FOR YOUR ROLEPLAYS. DO NOT USE THIS FAKEMON AT ALL. THIS INCLUDES THE NAMES AND BIO. I'm sorry, but unless it's fan art, the following Fakemon are not up for use; Eowenah, Shadogaire, Yinyanro, Maxlormew, Macromew, Mewtrice, Kittwo, [my version of] Mewthree, Glitch01, [my version of] MissingN0, and Eowenah's kids Cerupus, Rubynine, Lunicane, and Vionight. This includes for roleplays, stories, character bios, fakedexes, etc. They're my main characters, so I just don't want to see them used in ways I didn't intend them. I would also really appreciate it if let me know if you see anyone using them without my permission. Thank you

Not gunna lie, this was a lot of fun to make. Probably one of the most fun so far.
So here's MissingN0 again, this time in his glitchy Phantom Form, now completely remastered! Honestly I'm really disappointed with the old one; MissingNo is such an interesting subject, with so many ways to interpret it, but somehow the old image came out so bland. I wasn't about to let that happen this time around. This time, I wanted to incorporate the glitchy aspects of old gen 1 glitch Pokemon, such as the jumbled pixels and distorted text. I also gave him some asymmetry to make him look even more messed up. Some other changes include additional patterns on the feet, toning down the fluff from the old design, and giving his tail and head tentacle things that classic Mew tail knob. Now, I will admit that originally I was planning on going with the old grey color scheme, but before adding the colors in, I started to think about the colors of the original MissingNo/M' (00) sprite, and decided to try them out. I mean, I do want to keep this in line with the original glitch. It actually turned out quite nice, so I decided to keep it.

In short, MissingN0 is meant to look more pixely and blocky, meant to resemble more graphical errors and game glitches, whereas his counterpart Glitch01 is more akin to television static, so has wavy distortions and static grain. All in all, I'm really, really happy with how it turned out. It stands out so much more, and gives MissingN0 a much more unique feel. Plus you can actually make out his features now :/

Alright, now backstory time~

As stated before, MissingN0 was a clone of Mew, one of the first clones to successfully survive past the first stages of development in the quest to create a new Mew. However, complications arose due to numerous defects, including the internal organs growing at a much faster rate than the body. What resulted was a slow, painful, and quite horrific death for poor MissingN0. At the time this was considered a serious blow, but it marked a turning point in the project, paving the way to more successful attempts, and eventually the creation of Mewtwo. But, while Team Rocket just scratched his attempt number off their chart and moved on with the project, MissingN0 was apparently not ready to move on himself.

For whatever reason, whether it be his Legendary genes or the extreme emotion he felt while he was dying, MissingN0 came back as a ghost. A very glitchy, distorted ghost. Being created in a lab by technology and being surrounded by electronic equipment may have factored in his new abilities, being able to cause distortions in reality and wreak havoc on electronics, causing very similar effects to those seen in the original games, although no one really knows for sure. When he first manifested after "coming back" he wreaked havoc on the lab, which threatened all of the lab's data and nearly got the cloning project shut down completely. He didn't mean to, as he had no real control over his powers at first. He wasn't quite sentient at that point, either. Just a hollow mass of emotion and energy, aimlessly haunting the lab. Eventually though, he developed a mind and a conscience, and became aware of the things around him. He also was able to better grapple his powers, and was able to cease most of the havoc he was causing. At that point he didn't really have a goal or know what to do with himself, so he stayed and haunted the lab he was created in. With the equipment [mostly] working again, the project was able to continue.

After many more attempts, with the example of MissingN0 to assist them, another clone finally began to stick, more powerful [and stable] than the last. It too survived past the first stages of development, and seemed to be healthy. The first trimester passed, then the second, and the third was coming close to an end. But it was a farce. MissingN0, while was quite ignorant of most things, could sense something was amiss with this clone, whom he had watched while haunting. He didn't know how, and didn't know why, but he could tell something bad was going to happen. And happen it did.

This new clone suddenly and unexpectedly began to seize, despite his vitals appearing normal. The seizure rapidly grew worse, eventually causing him to flail and convulse uncontrollably. Despite the scientists' best efforts, the clone eventually perished, only days away from being "born".

Such a violent death lead to yet another haunting. The clone, later to be named Glitch01, also came back as MissingN0 had, only this time with a wrath. Glitch01 was not like MissingN0. While MissingN0 eventually developed a mind and will, and haunted as a peaceful apparition, Glitch01 was a full on poltergeist. Fueled only by raw hatred and anger, and wielding the same reality altering powers as his counterpart, he attacked the scientists directly, possessing objects and equipment alike to lash out.

MissingN0 himself had grown quite fond of these humans, whom he had now spent over a year with while haunting. He didn't know why, but he knew he didn't like them being attacked, and he didn't like this ghost that was bent on destroying them. So, he fought back. It was difficult, as Glitch01 had no real mind to reason with and only acted on negative emotions. But MissingN0 had a strong will, and eventually he overcame Glitch01 and drove him from the premise. But in the struggle, the lab had taken a heavy beating. Luckily most of the important data survived and none of the scientists had been killed, and they were able to repair the damages Glitch01 had caused. Sometime during these repairs though, MissingN0 had come to realise that there was a world outside the lab, and after some time decided to explore it.

The equipment never suffered from strange "glitches" again.

After his departure, MissingN0 wandered the earth aimlessly for quite some time, not really quite sure where to go or what to do. After some time, MissingN0 happened upon a large mansion, and, feeling drawn to it for some unknown reason, decided to investigate. Inside he met a little girl lying in a large bed. She was sickly, and looked very sad. This was all new to him, as he had never seen a child before. As it turned out, the child had terminal cancer and wasn't going to make it much longer. Feeling her pain, he eventually became friends with her, and she was the only person who could see him. She taught him about life, and about the world, and gave him better understanding of what it means to exist, which before he had no grasp of. When she was dying, she gave MissingN0 her favorite toy, as MissingN0 was her closest friend. Her immune system was shot, so they tried to keep most Pokemon away from her, and her parents were never around. He was afraid for her, as the only death he knew of was his own, which was pretty horrible. However, she told him she wasn't afraid and that he shouldn't be scared either. She passed shortly after.

Eventually her family all moved out, as the mansion they owned no longer meant anything to them. It was boarded up, and no one ever purchased it. MissingNO stayed, however, as he didn't feel so lonely there. He could feel the young girl's essence there, and it was his only real source of comfort. He kept the doll with him always, and he uses it to manifest himself and wield attacks to defend his home.

In the games, MissingN0 is found in the same mansion, now all decrepit and glitchified. The Silph Scope would make a re-appearance, allowing the player to make out ghost pokemon and MissingN0 itself, who would appear as a jumbled block of pixels without it. Even with the Silph Scope though MissingN0's sprite would still warp and scramble to a degree. Truthfully I kinda miss the silph Scope thing from the Gen 1 games. It made ghost Pokemon so much more engaging, and made the battles in the tower much more interesting. Guess they thought it was too much work or something Anywho, the mansion itself would be pretty difficult to navigate, doors occasionally teleporting you to random rooms, the map constantly glitching out Glitch City style (but to a much lesser degree), furniture rearranging itself, multiple player sprites appearing on the map from time to time, and so on and so forth. The player can also occasionally see the ghost of  the Girl from the backstory randomly appear, but the player will never get to actually interact with them. Also creepy stuff. LOOOOOOTS of creepy stuff. Think of it like a combination of the Lavender Town Pokémon Tower , The Old Chateau , Strange House , and some of the effects of things like Super Glitch (And by extension the "TMTRAINER effect ") and Glitch City.

In battle, MissingN0's ability Manifest can cause a lot of havoc. Unless a Pokemon with Manifest is holding an item, they can only be hit with attacks on random turns, which sounds great, until you factor in the additional effect of randomising all used attacks, weather, statuses, abilities, etc each turn. Also, all pokemon on the field (minus the Pokemon with the manifest ability) have a chance of becoming confused, including your own. The ability also causes aesthetic graphical distortions similar to the ones seen with Gen 1 glitch Pokemon in battle. When a Pokemon with Manifest is given an Item, however, The battle can proceed (mostly) normally, although it may still rarely cause some of the effects mentioned. Luckily for the player, wild MissingN0 will always be holding an item called a "Haunted Ragdoll", which Keeps the initial battle fairly normal and makes it easier to catch MissingN0. Just don't use Thief or Knock Off. The doll also boosts the power of MissingN0's Glitch and Ghost type attacks when held.

As an aside, I'm making it so that all Pokemon/fakemon with alternate forms have seperate pokedex entries for their forms, so I'll probably be changing the pokedex entries for Mega Mewtwo Z. Also, I just realised that the Trinity Trio members don't have Pokedex entries yet :/... So little time, so much to write...

One last thing, a lot of MissingN0's pokedex info references old Gen 1 glitch Pokemon and glitches, so if you want you can see if you can pick all of it out Alright, I think that's it.

Boy, that was a lot. If you made it through the whole thing, type the name of a... song, in your comment. I really appreciate if you read the whole thing  (Also, I apologize if it's hard to read/badly written, writing isn't my strong suite. Feel free to point out any grammatical errors or other mistakes if you see any, it helps out a lot more than you think)

Pokedex entries
--Ferros--
Zirconium: Whenever MissingN0 is near, any nearby electronic equipment goes haywire. It seems to have a difficult time manifesting itself in the physical world, appearing blurry and distorted.

Chromium: a Pokemon shrouded in mystery, it causes reality around it to warp and distort in strange ways. It possesses technology to attack and, possibly, to try and communicate.

Titanium: While witnesses describe barely being able to make out its distorted form, all seem to describe seeing an old, ragged doll being carried by it. Why this is is unknown.

--Acerbies--
Coniferous: Being near MissingN0 causes all kinds of strange things to happen, such as distortions in reality, malfunctioning equipment, and strange noises. Witnesses have also said they've had items in their bag duplicate out of nowhere.

Deciduous: While it normally appears as a distorted mass, it can also reportedly change into different objects, such as fossil skeletons. Being near it can permanently damage any electronics on hand, especially computers.

Evergreen: While few have ever encountered it, those who have have reported all kinds of strange events, such as distortions and electronic malfunctions. Their Hall of Fame records also always seem to be affected.

--Naraht--
Tourmaline: While MissingN0 died before it could finish developing, it quickly reappeared as an apparition. It seems to be attracted to technology, and, strangely, an old man in Viridian city.

Celestine: After dying in the lab it was created in, it came back as an apparition with the ability to wreak havoc on technology and distort reality around it. Strangely though, it is not aggressive.

Galena: A terrifying apparition that distorts very reality, it attempts to communicate by manifesting through objects or taking control of computer equipment. However, it has never purposely harmed anyone.

I hope in the next game in 2019 that Nintendo makes a nod to this glitch Pokémon from R/B/G/Y and makes it a full fledged Pokémon, and to be honest, the back story and origins you made for it along with the look fit it perfectly!!

Love this, love your art and is there a shiny version of this and glitch01?

I would certainly hope so, an it would be freaking AWESOME if they did, but I doubt they'd be that creative...

>"and is there a shiny version of this and glitch01?"
Not as of yet, but I'm experimenting with a couple of different color schemes to see If I can't find a good one for them. Glitch01 might be a bit of a challenge though considering his distortions

Anywho, thank you so much

Hmm... I'm not sure I see much of a resemblance. While both MissingN0 and the forms of the D-Reaper both incorporate pixelation and muted colors in their designs, there doesn't seem to be much else they have in common. Plus, the pixelation they have differs in that MissingN0's is based off of the corrupted sprites seen in Gen 1 games, While the D-Reaper seems to incorporate the pixelation to emphasize its digital nature.
