Yeah, I couldn't redo Eowenah's design/anatomy without also redoing her "official" Sugi image. So here we go folks! Round four of Eowenah's normal form! Now with her wings folded and not taking up most of the picture! (Also a bit less Blaziken-y). Boy has this been a project. The old design never did quite sit well with me... she just seemed kinda...clunky, y' know? And kinda scrawny. It felt like the design didn't flow together very well, which considering Eowenah is supposed to be graceful and elegant simply wouldn't do. Plus there was that drastic redesign of the wings and chest area to take into account (plus plus an extra pair now on the pelvis)... So yeah, this update was long overdue.

Like I said in the preceding paragraph, this has been quite the project. Not only have I been looking for a design that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but also one that could actually WORK. The arrangement of the bones, the shape of the wings, the size of the chest, all of it I've been trying to arrange in a plausible way that also fits the overall setup I already had going for her (such as being both bipedal and quadrupedal, having the wings attach above the secondary arms, the forked tail, yadda yadda yadda). After many sketches, doodles, redraws, redoodles, re-redraws, etc etc etc, I finally got a design I think works. Different enough to count as its own thing, but similar enough to the old design to be recognizable. I'm not sure if I'm quite satisfied with the line art (as per usual) or the colors though, might keep playing around with them until I either get something I like or simply give up. But hey, she's been my persona/pokesona/feathersona/whateveryoucallit since I first joined DA, so I feel like I owe it to her to make her perfect. She's literally my tough-ol' bird!

I don't want to go into super detail about who and what Eowenah is (especially since there is a pretty in depth description in the link provided above), but the TL : DR is that she was originally a genetic concoction made by Mewtwo as an attempt to create the perfect genome, but was possessed by Halipio to transform her into a super-Pokémon capable of taking on the fallen legendary Shadogaire . It... kinda sounds dumb typing that out, but, hey, it's been her story for years so I'm sticking to it.

Eowenah's "parents" are Mewtwo and Kittwo (newer design here ), although she contains the DNA of hundreds of other Pokémon as well. She has a brother, Mewtrice (newer design here ), who was of natural birth, and five children; Yinyanro (named Shaun), Cerupus (Cera), Rubynine (Ruby), Lunicane (), and Vionight (). Eowenah is actually a widow, and was once mates with a shadow/"demon" Lycurpus named (by himself) William. Both Kittwo and William were killed by Shadogaire, the former dying when Eowenah was just three. Eowenah has lived a long and hard life, suffering from numerous hardships, heartaches, betrayals, injuries, and even rape, all while trying to maintain a strong leadership role for the other legendaries and her close family and friends (I mean technically all of the legendaries are related to her, but still). Eowenah is kind and understanding of others, but she comes off as cold and uncaring to those who don't know her. Perhaps it is because of her life of hardships that makes her seem so calloused, or perhaps because she is afraid that if she bonds with anyone new they too will be killed by her nemesis. But if one takes the time to get to know and bond with her, she becomes extremely loyal and dedicated to them.

Eowenah is a Pokémon of light. Not only does light fuel her, but she can freely wield it and any light bearing reaction (such as fire). during the day Eowenah will lay out in the full sunlight, wings expanded and full size. Within the dark feather on her body are actually chloroplasts, which allow her to photosynthesize with the light she absorbs. Unlike plants, which appear green due to their chlorophyll, the dark feathers appear to be dark iridescent blue, almost black, due to the light being scattered within them. this seems to more effectively utilize light during photosynthesis, and because of it ANY light can be used. This allows her to both have an extra supply of oxygen (which you need when powering huge flight muscles) and give her an energy boost from produced glucose. Sadly, unlike plants and grass type Pokémon, she does not emit any oxygen, as she needs every last scrap of it she can get to fuel such a massively oxygen demanding body. In addition to photosynthesis, Eowenah's body can actually store photon energy, so any light that touches her is absorbed and stored. Her head and chest jewels (known as the parietal and sternal jewels ) seem to be the primary absorption point, and when active appear pitch black due to the lack of light escaping. When attacking, she fires both concentrated light beams from stored reserves, and will also attack with a magical, extremely hot blue flame. While not a fire type, she can yield any fire type attack as well as any, but strangely the light produced from this fire does not seem to be absorbed back into her body.

In addition to her light wielding abilities, Eowenah also takes after her parents in having immense psychic power. While a good deal of her psychic energy is put towards keeping her body shielded from water and debris and maintaining homeostasis (as with most psychic type Pokémon), she has more than enough to easily control and manipulate objects and Pokémon around her. Some of her non-biological psychic abilities include hypnosis, telekinesis, mind reading, telepathy (Currently the only way she can speak due to a previous injury to the throat), memory manipulation and erase, and even the ability to speed up mental processing to essentially "slow time" around her. She cannot, however, see into the future, or if she can she never utilizes it. While her flying type is suppressed by her Light type, Eowenah still retains her strongly aerial build and lifestyle. With four massive wings and deeply forked tail feathers, she is an expert flier, and when in the air she is unmatched. Like Fearow, she can stay in the air for days on end, even capable of sleeping while flying, using her parental jewel to guide herself. Eowenah also uses a great deal of her psychic energy to aid in her flying, which both helps save energy by lowering the amount of physical excursion needed for powered flight and also allows her extremely fine tuned control of herself. To be able to control all of these muscles and moving parts, Eowenah has a massive cerebellum and large, long flocculus . Strangely, the majority of her flocculus is not located within the skull like most animals and Pokémon, but instead extends down into enlarged canals within the notarium (fused back vertebrae) and pelvis. This seems to free up extra room for the rest of her brain (which is so large it even extends into her horns) and also allows her to control the front limbs and rear limbs independently.

Aside from her light, psychic, and aerial powers, Eowenah also has a great deal of other magical abilities at her disposal. For example, Eowenah's breath is pure and sweet, and when she breaths on the sick and the injured, their wounds and ailments heal. By contrast, her tail conceals a long, ray like stinger, where all of the toxins from the fruits and mushrooms she eats are concentrated. When attacking she can whip it at foes, and those struck are severely poisoned. Among the toxins within the stinger are deadly amatoxins (Including the amatoxin α-amanitin ), toxalbumins , phalloidin , muscarine , ergotamine , orellanine , cyanide , and even urushiol . Despite this, Eowenah never uses her stinger on humans or their Pokémon. Eowenah also has the ability to learn attacks of every type except Shadow and Spirit, and can learn every TM, HM, and move tutor move. Curiously when wielding a dark or ghost type attack, the attack types will actually change to psychic, and appear differently than when yielded by other Pokémon. This is probably due to the fact that Eowenah refuses to use dark or cruel attacks, and is actually using different attacks to make up for it.

As with every powerful entity, Eowenah does have her weaknesses, although to a much lesser degree than her counterpart Shadogaire. As with all Light and Psychic types, Eowenah is weak to Shadow type moves, which makes her task of fighting against shadow and Shadow type Pokémon especially difficult. She also CANNOT swim, so should she somehow be submerged, her feathers become heavy with water and she will sink. This is especially dangerous since Shadogaire, like his brother Lugia, is an expert swimmer, and can easily drag her into the water. While her psychic abilities do act as a water repellent, once completely underwater her brain essentially overloads, and she is unable to keep the water off of her. These two factors have lead to a number of permanent injuries, such as her broken leg poisoned with Shadogaire's venom, or her scarred throat/trachea now incapable of speech. But despite these things, Eowenah continues to fight on, dutifully protecting others despite all of her injuries, scars, and weaknesses. Eowenah will not stop fighting until her job is done, even if that means sacrificing herself in the process.

Galena: Created by Mewtwo and Kittwo, this Pokémon was planned to be used as a weapon against humans. However, her good nature won favor with Arceus, who instead made her into the Legendguard to defend against the Shadow Pokémon.

Zirconium: While not a fire type, Eowenah will absorb flames and light energy and use them to fuel herself and her attacks. She also uses sunlight to photosynthesize with chlorophyll in her feathers.

Chromium: Created from many different Pokémon, Eowenah can yield many different types of attacks skillfully and gracefully. Eowenah bathes in light to build up her strength for flight, or often to fight.

Titanium: Light energy fuels her body and mind. When absorbing available light, the jewels on her head and chest appear pitch black, due to the light not bouncing back into the observer's eye.

Coniferous: Her breath can heal even the most brutal or gruesome of injuries. With her four wings and tail feathers spread wide, she can fly nonstop, even able to sleep while on the wing.

Deciduous: With the largest wings of any known Pokémon, Eowenah is a master of the air. She also uses her wings to absorb light for energy, and will wield it while fighting or defending others.

Evergreen: Using her four wings and forked tail, Eowenah can outmaneuver almost any Pokémon while in the air. She uses her powers over light and fire to protect others from Shadow Pokémon.

Tourmaline: Eowenah's combination of powerful psychic abilities, Immense psychical strength, and intense light and fire powers make her a formidable opponent to face. Strangely though, she rarely fights.

Celestine: A Pokémon of the light, Eowenah fights to protect all of creation from her adversary Shadogaire. She soaks in any light or fire that touches her to energize her body and attacks.

Galena: Created by Mewtwo and Kittwo, this Pokémon was planned to be used as a weapon against humans. However, her good nature won favor with Arceus, who instead made her into the Legendguard to defend against the Shadow Pokémon.

Off topic, but I kinda find it funny that Type: Null and Silvally are a thing now, since they are pretty much what Eowenah was supposed to be. She actually has more in common with them than she does the Mew clones. I mean, they even both have the whole gryphon-chimera theme going on in the designs!
