Description
Binoculars are really good for the wider open clusters, and the Alpha Persei Cluster is no exception. Situated in the constellation Perseus, this star is actually visible to the naked eye under the right conditions. Its most prominent members are blue B-type stars with the exception of Mirfak (Alpha Persei), which is a yellow-white F-type supergiant. Mirfak is visible at the very bottom. This shot captured a ton of the cluster's fainter members and background stars, including some I couldn't see with my own eyes even with the binoculars.
