Description
This is one of my favorites. It is a Konami Kong figure I redid, and a 30 cm Godzilla 62 by MM28. It is supposed to be in "proper scale", the 1933 Kong was 18-50 feet tall depending on the scene, so here I made him 35 feet tall, with Godzilla at about 50 meters. I always thought it was wrong that Kong was the same size in the Toho movie! There is a man running away from Godzilla on the tracks, but the train is about to hit him!

I know! I remember think the same way that technically king kong was way smaller than Godzilla. I'm trying to clarify, did you make the Godzilla figure or build it? It's amazing!!

the Godzilla is a model kit from Monster Maker 28. They do awesome accurate sculpts. I have their kits for the 62, 64 and 68 versions of Godzilla.
The Kong is a Konami 33 Kong I resculted a bit and repainted.

This is incredible. I really enjoy ceramic sculpture, I have toyed with idea of "attempting" to sculpt Godzilla. He's one of my favorite monsters as long as I can remember.

Personally, I liked the 1998 version of Godzilla better than the original Japanese one...

well, the japanese one had many incarnations..
My only problem with the 98 was it ran away from the military and was less a force of nature than the Japanese one.

Actually from what I've read the Kong that fought Godzilla was the "Son of Kong". The 1933 "King Kong" was brought to NY, shot by bi-planes, fell off the Empire State Building, and died, remember?
At the end of "Son of Kong"(also made in 1933), the island sunk leaving Kong Jr holding Carl Denham in his hand above water so he could be rescued. Apparently Kong Jr survived and swam Faro Island. Kong Jr was either exposed to radiation on his way to Faro Island or on the island itself which caused him to crow to the size of Godzilla.

I have never heard any attempt to connect them before! That is interesting! Well mine is the original 33 Kong against the 62 Godzilla, just a "what if" scenario if you will..

Hey, it's an awesome work of art! This Godzilla version still remains one of favorite designs to date (I think it's the more dinosaur shaped head). And I use to think the same thing regarding the size difference between Kong and Godzilla, so I (like most fans) just "suspended disbelief" and went with it.
I'm not sure where I read the explanation about it being Kong's son that fought Godzilla, but at least it was plausible within the G-verse and explained Kong's size increase.

Yeah I like this G-design too, best of the older ones to me, except maybe the 54.
Thanks for the watch!

I always like to cotrast both Kong and Godzilla, and the one big thing is their height. With how big Kong is, being about 50 feet, in retrospect, Kong is about the size of Godzilla's head or foot. Godzilla of course being 165 to 300 feet tall. So the fight between them should have lasted as long or shorter than the fight between Godzilla and Zilla in Final Wars.

Well... wouldn't be much of a film if King Kong was actual size . Anyways, you have some REAL skill buddy. You make some really cool Godzilla models and you're pretty damn good at drawing
. Keep up the great work

I can see why King Kong's species went extinct now XD XD.
Great work on the figures by the way. Haha its got so much detail and realism so that it looks very serious yet at the same time pretty humerus XD.
