Description
This is one of my favorites. It is a Konami Kong figure I redid, and a 30 cm Godzilla 62 by MM28. It is supposed to be in "proper scale", the 1933 Kong was 18-50 feet tall depending on the scene, so here I made him 35 feet tall, with Godzilla at about 50 meters. I always thought it was wrong that Kong was the same size in the Toho movie! There is a man running away from Godzilla on the tracks, but the train is about to hit him!

in the 1933 original King Kong movie, he was between 18 and 50 feet tall, depending on the scene. In the Toho movie King Kong vs Godzilla, they made both monsters about 120 feet tall.
So here, I made Kong about 35 feet tall, and Godzilla stayed at 120.

Godzilla vs. King King: Just as it should be. XD
Another fine work.
But, one thing though... If Godzilla here is suppose to be 100 meters tall, that means that he's over 328 feet tall! (1 meter = 3.2808 feet)
King Kong (at 35 feet) would not even reach the top of Godzilla's foot! BUT the Showa Era versions of Godzilla are set at 50 meters tall (164.04 feet). If you fix the numbers in your profile, the scale may be fixed.

I see! Good, now the information and the image complement each other better.
One thing about Godzilla that interests me: all the design and size changes he goes through. He's been placed at 50, 55, 60, 80, and 100 meters in height (from 164 to 328 feet tall), and has had over a dozen suit designs across his 50+ year history from 1954 to today.

its true! They had to make him bigger as buildings began to get taller..I was going to maybe to another library show called the many faces of Godzilla to showcase the suit design changes with model kits, but I need a few more models to get all the suits..
If you haven't yet seen my webshots page, there is an album on my last show. Link is on my profile page under journal or ID.

I may check it out. Thank you for this information.
And really, it's not so much that buildings getting larger that is the sole reason for Godzilla's radical size changes. The chronological size adjustments go as follows:
50 meters - Showa Era
80 meters - 1984/ Return of Godzilla
100 meters - 1991/ Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah
55 meters - 2000 Era
60 meters - 2001/ GMK: Giant Monster All Out Attack!
100 meters - 2004/ Final Wars

By now I have it all in my head. I have gathered bits of information across various stretches of time, and I reference one of my favorite websites Toho Kingdom ([link] ) whenever I need to find something that I am not familiar with regarding Godzilla/ Kaiju.
But my knowledge is limited to the films, however, as that is where the franchise is defined by and has been done the most justice with.
Godzilla himself I do not need to reference for!

^^! Yeah, I like to look at Toho Kingdom now and again..I think the kaijukits website would really be enjoyable for you. Look in the database under Godzilla 2000, and it will show you every kit made of that suit. I would like to know which one you think is best.
Another excellent sculptor is MM28, that is the maker of the G62 I built, they fit like a glove, their new Gigan will stay together without any glue!!

You know, the original Kong was probaby 60 feet tall. I mean, he held a woman in the palm of his hand and I keep hearing people say he was only 20 or so feet tall. That can't be true. But Godzilla would have crushed him easily! That tiny guy is between a rock and a hard place!

Yeah, on the Clubhouse modeling forum we had a big discussion about that. I went with Wikapedia's info, which at the time gave the range of size and scale he was presented at. He was supposedly much taller in the city scenes so he still looked big around the buildings. In any case, he is big, but Godzilla is bigger!

I like Kong, he's the original giant monster and I have respect for the big ape, but Godzilla has always been my favorite. Seems like Kong doesn't work if you take him away from the girl and human elements. Can't say the same for zilla.
