Description My Dad is gone. He passed away peacefully sometime before 11 AM this morning. Unfortunately I missed seeing him off by about 10 minutes. He died shortly after I was notified to come.
I always liked this picture. As a teen, I would look at it and think, "It looks like he liked me once.."
As we both got older, I began to understand him better, and see why we had trouble getting along for a while. He was just worried about providing for us...
My Dad always loved kids though..
I think what went wrong is I grew up...
I did not stay little, and cute.
But he was a good guy, and I think he did love me, even if I am ugly and bald now...

Sorry for you loss. I lost my grandmother pretty much the same way. Was going to go see her in Michigan and she just passed away within 10 minutes after we hit the city there.

I've said this before, but the people we understand less in our youth are the ones we miss more when times come to be parted from them. I'm sure your father didn't mean wrong, even if he did wrong to you. I believe he had high expectations for all his children, but the only way he sought best to motivate you was to jolt you. In a way, it was his mistake to not know how to approach you, but on the other hand it would have been yours as well, thinking too rashly upon his intentions.
I am sure that he never stopped loving you. Only an insane parent would renounce the love for their children, for whichever reason. And I am certain he is happy in Heavens knowing he brought you up, hard or easy as it was, to be great children and wonderful and loving parents yourselves

May he rest in peace and may you meet him again ^_^
