I’ve had this piece finished for a while but decided not to post it until now, mostly because I wasn’t sure if I was going to draw a background for it. Ultimately I decided a detailed background wouldn’t suit this peice as it portrays a moment where everything else falls away as Glen and Isamu embrace in a heartfelt reunion.

This will be the third time I’ve redrawn this peice, here is the previous version I did eariler this yea r. I did like the other version but felt it was missing something. I tried to put a bit more fluidity/dynamic into this redraw as the other felt a little too stiff.

Scene Exceprt (Book II)

“Glen?” A voice asked from behind; a voice they had come to know so well, a voice that had become one of their greatest comforts.

Glen whirled, not recognizing Isamu at first, the physical changes he’d somehow to acquired making them hesitate for a moment. But as they held his gaze, the familiarity and kindness of his eyes sparked the recognition within Glen. They rushed forward, tears springing to their eyes, Isamu scrambling towards them.

The pair collided in an engulfing embrace, nearly knocking each other over. Glen wrapped their arms around Isamu’s torso, their eyes wide with disbelief, silent sobs bubbling up from their chest as tears ran down their cheeks. Isamu’s hold was almost crushing, but Glen couldn’t care less, they could feel him again. He was here in their arms. That was all that mattered.
