Description

Spoilers for season 2 episode 7 "What ever happened to Della Duck!?" of Ducktales 2017

and I were talking about said episode and how bitterly we both were disappointed. We spitballed some alternative ideas and this is what they blossomed into in my head.

So the setup was that a) Scrooge spent the equivalent of the GDP of several countries to find Della, despite b) Della being "only" stranded on the moon where the armada of spaceships would have looked first. I was excited to see the extraordinary explanation how that happened.

The episode's answer: "everyone involved is stupid and incompetent".

Della forgets she has a gold tooth for years. The pilot of the spaceship looking for anything unusual dismisses a huge dust storm on the moon as irrelevant. The Lunarians never figure out the mite eats gold despite gold being ubiquitous in their culture and only stumble upon Della after ten or so years.

Seems like they were really going for Della's original name Dumbella...

So what if the cosmic storm transported the Spear of Selene into an alternate dimension and that's why she couldn't come back? The Lunarians, who have their own spaceships, quickly find her. She convinces them to bring her back to Earth. But lo and behold, everyone she knew is recognizable, but strangely different: the avian population resembles severeal real life species and not only the American Pekin (which in the original universe is especially bizarre in the cases of Launchpad (pelican) and Gyro (chicken, thus technically a rooster, but without a comb) whose species obviously don't have American Pekin variants) and everyone's gender is switched. Also this dimension's Della died young and therefore the rift between Pickpenny McDuck and Donna Duck happened much earlier and their adventures ended much earlier. Della reconnects with the alternate versions of her family and friends and they broker a deal with the Lunarians: with Earth's ressources and the Moon's technology they're gonna build spaceships to find and study the cosmic storms to then develop the technology to safely and deliberately travel between universes. Many space adventures ensue. While hunting for the cosmic storm, Della falls in love with Mr. Beakley's son. They marry and have a child, Webbey so that Della actually CAN be a mother and doesn't only waffle on about the IDEA of being a mother. Finally the joint Earth-Lunarian effort yields results: the storm is found and analysed. Back on the Moon the most brilliant minds of both worlds plan and build a prototype, the Terran Crescent. After years of work (and building an interplanetary alliance of the several alien species they encountered while searching for the cosmic storm) Della is finally able to return to her home dimension. But does she want to? She made a life and a family for herself here. What use would it be to return to her first three kids and her original family who all went on with their lives without her? (That's called mission creep.) But the dimension-hopping ship is there, might as well use it...

Donna Duck (mallard (Anas platyrhynchos))

Penumbra (Lunarian)

You might want to make a Google image search for "duck cloaca" before fully committing to that idea.

More importantly, however: Would she bang you? Because sex doesn't automatically happen by one side declaring their willingness. It's something that both participants desire from each other. Because of your quick declaration of a statement that the majority of society wouldn't find acceptable my intuition is that neither the Della of the show nor my interpretation of her would bang you.

Of course you're free to think, write and draw whatever you wish in that regard. Just please don't expect me or the majority of society to have any sort of enthusiasm for it. The furry fandom more likely to be supportive in that regard.

In that case, I am sorry. I didn't do enough research to get context for your comment.

To prevent others from making the same assumptions I made, you could put the information that you're a furry into your signature.

In the end of the episode, it’s seem that the Lunarian or The Moon civilization attempt to waging war on Earth.

That's the beauty of creating this now, while no one knows for sure and it's open to interpretation.

Actually, Della never knew she had gold teeth. Based on her dialogue, Scrooge had the gold tooth in secret.

And she never noticed that she had a gold tooth? Did she ever look in a mirror?

Though there is a discrepancy between words and pictures, as she says "gold filling" but shows a gold tooth.

Nevertheless, it all doesn't change that it's highly contrived and makes her look incompetent, because the solution comes to her by conincidence and accident.

It was probably a molar at the very back(how often do you check those anyway) and she was intended to feel stupid and angry at herself for that. Though the presence of Penumbra and Lunaris only after 10 years since Della crashed was strange BUT I have a theory they are not as friendly as they appear to be, if Lunaris' sinister sounding remark at the end is anything to go by. They might have known about Della the whole time and chose to observe or simply ignore her.

But why did the writers decide to make Della "feel stupid and angry at herself for that"? They also could've not done that. By doing so they took away from her agency.

It was never specified. There's no father in Carl Bark's Duck family tree . In Mark Worden's Duck family tree there's a portrait, but the name is only given as "? Duck". And in Don Rosa's Duck family tree a bird landed "accidentally" in front of the portrait.
