Crash!
The rain, mixed with occasional thunder and lightning was deafening. The wind was howling, as if it was the sky itself crying its eyes out. The girl sitting by the window was unlike the sky, wearing a serene expression on her face as if she enjoys the storm. She glanced outside, bemused by the fact that her singing voice was being drowned out by the din of the heavy rain.
She opened her door, and quickly stepped outside. It was surprisingly refreshing, she thought. The nice, cold water hitting her skin was a great way for her to cool down after an extremely humid day. Her (f/c) dress now clung to her body, accentuating her body outline. Despite enjoying the storm, she felt a slight loneliness tugging a corner of her heart, reminding her that she was spending her 18th birthday without the person she wanted to be with most.
Suddenly, the lights went out. The whirring of the air conditioning had stopped its futile attempt to take over the natural din of the storm, and at the same time, the girl was left in the dark, wet night on her balcony.
The wind became much stronger, and the girl could no longer stand outside without feeling the cold chill on her skin. She quickly went back into her cold room, and searched for a warm towel that could stop her shivering. It was now clear to her that the darkness and cold air was miserable, and that she was attempting to fool herself into believing that they weren’t.
“This is the worst…” she whispered. There was very little warmth in the room, and since the electricity was down, she is unable to take a long-anticipated hot shower.
However, a loud knock on her bedroom door released her from her dreams of getting a warm shower.
“Who is it?” She asked loudly. Alone, wet and afraid of the dark, she couldn’t summon her courage to open the door.
“It’s me…Gil.” The girl flinched. She had not expected him to come. Not him, not the one who had completely ignored her for the past week.
“Go away.”
But the door still opened, and there was the girl’s best friend, Gilbert Beilschmidt, holding a cake with 18 lit candles.
“I’m sorry I’m late… But I wanted this day to be special. I’m sorry I ignored you, (name). Happy Birthday.”
But the girl did not care about the cake. She grabbed onto her friend, sobbing.
“Woah, why are you crying, fraulein? I was trying to make you happy! And Scheisse, why are you soaked?”
The albino had forgotten his arrogance as he flustered around, trying to calm down his friend.
“I thought you hated me!”
The Prussian slowly set down the cake on the table next to him, and embraced the cold girl in front of him, enveloping her in his warmth, ignoring the water seeping through his clothes.
“(name), es tut mir leid… I never intended for you to be hurt.”
Hanging onto the albino even tighter, the girl said faintly, “You better be… because I like you more than anyone.”
At those words, Gilbert blushed right up to his ears, whilst (name) laid her head on his chest. It felt like the boundaries between two bodies was getting erased; the sensation of warmth overriding the cold.
“(name), ich liebe dich auch…”
With those words, by the wavering candles on her birthday cake, the girl finally smiled.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! I was experimenting with writing in third person, so I'm glad it turned out well!
