Description
After a day of monitoring Earth, you went down to see Emil to talk about his reincarnations. You noticed that the skies are cloudy, and thought that you made a mistake when you casted a spell to keep the skies clear. Shrugging, you decided to teleport to where Emil is.

“Emil!” You shouted to Emil, who turned around and greeted you. You decided to have a talk with him, and walked with him to go back to his home. “Emil, please tell me, do you know why you retain your memories?” Emil shrugged. “Every time I reincarnate, my soul passes through the River of Forgetfulness, right?” You nodded. As you were alone in the heavens, you oversee every process in the reincarnation system, and human souls as well as gods that became humans go pass that river to forget their memories in order to be reborn again.

“The River of Forgetfulness… never manages to take my memory away, with my innate powers as the god of memories. I still remember when Lukas was executed, and when you came down to see us the first time.” Emil exhaled sharply. As Emil was about to continue, Lukas saw you, and both you and Emil decided to drop the conversation.

“Hi, (name). Do you want to eat at our house tonight?” Lukas started to invite you, and you nodded. Making some small talk with Lukas and Emil, the three of you walked back to Lukas’ house.

“Hi (name). How are you?” Tino greeted you with a gentle smile (like he always does), whilst opening the door for the Lukas and Emil. Berwald grunted and acknowledged your presence, and Mathias ran towards you and picked you up, twirling you around. “Who would’ve thought that Lukas could get you as his girlfriend, (name)?” You blushed, whilst Lukas moved forward to pull down on the Dane’s necktie, resulting in him dropping you, and Lukas caught you without effort. “She’s not my girlfriend, you idiot. She’s my friend.”

Mathias, recovering from being choked, smirked in reply, “Like hell she is when you’re holding her bridal style!” Lukas blushes in return, and quickly puts you down to calm himself. “You dropped her! She would’ve fallen and hurt herself!” Lukas replied with his voice raised, and dragged you to his room, slamming the door. Tino shot a glance at Mathias, who merely laughed to himself, when Berwald was just making some coffee for Lukas and you.

“Lukas… You know that Mark is like that. Don’t waste your time thinking about it.” You looked around in Lukas’ room. You saw some books on magic, and remembered that even as a human, Lukas actually performs magic along with Arthur. Smiling, you picked them up and scanned them, only to see a small sketch of a beautiful woman… that looks a bit like you.

“Hey Lukas, is this me?” Turning around and showing Lukas the picture, you saw him blush. “Oh, so Kiku drew this for you?” Lukas replied, “Yes. So you knew.” You merely smiled and spoke, “I am God after all. I can see human actions.” Looking out of the bedroom’s window, you stared at the clouds, thinking of the world that you ruled alone without your partner and your people. Lukas, seeing the distant look in your eyes, became afraid.

*Lukas POV*

Why? Why is she having such a sad look in her beautiful (e/c) eyes of hers? I opened up my mouth to speak, and managed a question, “(name)… Did you ever love anyone?”
(name) turned around to face me with a hesitant feeling. “I… love a human. But he forgot about me, every time he reincarnates. I loved him. His life went away with the sands of time, but return again and again...” What is this feeling of pain in my chest? Why am I feeling so depressed over hearing those two sentences? Is it because I wish that this man would be me? I can’t love her…But I do.

What I am going to do? I am a human, when she is god...

Trying not to have (name) notice the distraught I feel on my face, I looked at the ground and asked her, “Can’t you let go?” She merely answered weakly, “I can’t.” I cannot stop anymore. “Why can’t you?” She smiles weakly at me, with tears in her eyes. “Why can’t I let go? I just can’t. He was… a light, illuminating my existence and brightening my endless days.” She exhaled sharply. “I need some time alone.”

I complied, and exited the room with a heavy heart, and a dull pain in my throat.

*Normal POV*

You sighed, as tears ran down your cheek. Why won’t he just… realize? I love you, Lukas. I still do. I don’t understand. I’ve been here for so long, protected this place for so long, but why can’t I have happiness? You wiped your tears, and with your illusion ability, you disguised the redness of your eyes, and walked out of the room as if nothing happened. But in your head, you can still see Lukas’ indifferent face when he asked the question, and there was no sign of him reciprocating your emotions.

Lukas seemed to be worried, but when he saw that your complexion was fine, he relaxed. Berwald walked over with some coffee, and offered you some. You thanked him, and slowly drank the bitter hot coffee. Feeling the heat of the drink down your throat somehow calms you, and you walked to sit next to the window again. Looking over the city, it made you feel nostalgic, as you thought of the days when you created Earth. And that day… the day when your people left you. However, you never did feel resentment at their actions. A ruler among gods… must always keep her composure. Always listen to their voices… but what do I do when I don’t have my people with me anymore?

Lukas sat down next to you as he sees you looking out of the window again, with even more sorrow in your eyes. Lukas said nothing but hugged you, to your surprise. Lukas was not always the one to express a lot of… affection. “(name), I’ll always be here for you. Even if I’m gone… please wait for my next reincarnation, so that you will at least have me.” You smiled. Lukas always said this, in every reincarnation. “Thank you. I love you, Lukas…”

*Lukas POV*

Did I just hear things right? Because I’m pretty sure that I heard God say…’I love you Lukas.’ After hours and hours of denying my own feelings, I can no longer deny it. I really do love her. I love God. Not as a god, but as a person. Her beautiful (e/c) eyes that glimmer with happiness, her fragility, and her kindness compels me to love her.

Holding her body and turning her around, I looked at (name), and gently kissed her.

*Normal POV*

Lukas suddenly kissed you gently, and without hesitation, you returned it. Pulling apart from Lukas, and looking at his deep blue eyes, you said, “I don’t care if I am God or not. I love you, Lukas.” You could see your own reflection in his now shining eyes, and hugged him. Lukas then whispered quietly to you, “I love you too, (name). I don’t love you as God, but as someone who is closer to me than I ever did imagine.” Sitting alone in his warm embrace, the quiet words he spoke brought relief and happiness after a million years of sadness.

Unbeknownst to Lukas, Tino and Mathias was peeking from behind the door at the warmhearted scene, with Mathias giggling like a schoolgirl and taking photos. Hearing the flashes of those photos, you and Lukas stood up and dashed across the room to kill the Dane for ruining the mood.

*After the near death of a certain Dane*

“Lukas, I’m going back to Heaven. Please take care…” Lukas gave you one last embrace, and you departed for the skies. Seeing you fly, Lukas closed his eyes after you were out of his sights. If only could be with you forever, (name)…
