You should never
EVER
shade with blacks
Like ever, it is just an absolute no no ;___; I am sorry, but I've thought this for a while but I didn't wanna be all picky and whiny but I think you should really look up colour theory because you shouldn't shade with pure blacks or whites for that matter, it makes the figures look.. I dunno how to describe, but just unrealistic. Like they just have dirt on them rather than them being in the dark. Play with colours! Mix things around!
When you shade, it doesn't have to be dark red on red.. or yellow mixed with black on yellow.. black is a colour that for the most part is recommended to avoid. It's a pain to wrap one's head around, but it's soooo worth it aaaa

Haha, sorry. The Pokemon explorer stuff is just not an interest of mine so I've just been quietly looking in my inbox and such.
Admittedly I felt the colouring on here seemed similar to colouring of other work in the past that wasn't collab so I was quick to jump the gun, so I'm sorry about that!!! It's good you're looking into colour theory at your school!!
