Description
You had seen a few elevators along your long and painstaking journey through this literal hell hole. Every time you saw one, you would silently wonder whether down below held the way out, though you were always swayed from proceeding into the elevator by the ominous and not so friendly sounding noises from below.By now, you were desperately craving human contact. The eye pods were as good enough company as any small friendly being could be, but they could not provide the friendly ‘hello’ or reassurance that any human being could do. It was weird, you technically weren’t alone yet you felt a huge void of emptiness and loneliness around you.
You tried engaging SCP 131 A and B in some one sided conversations but those short ‘chats’ didn’t make you feel better one bit. “How are you feeling?” followed by some illegible noise was no where near a proper conversation.
The radio you found not too long ago was not providing anything useful. Yes, you did have batteries but that did not mean that the signal this thing had made communication with other survivors possible.
Your little adventure ground to yet another halt at on of this place’s many dead ends which meant you would have to turn back and find a route that you had previously decided not to go down. Those, however, were in the many because this damn place is just as bad as any labrynth you could imagine, especially seeing is it was filled to the brim with monsters that could kill you in an almost hilariously large number of different ways. That is why your back tracking was full of reluctance. It made finding you easier for hostiles, hostiles which you really didn’t want to meet any time soon.
Through some more dark and not very welcoming hallways you went, searching on and on for salvation. The more time you spent alone, with no signs of help, the more you felt as if you were completely doomed. That probably not being true as you were protected, somewhat, by the two tiny eyed beings that followed you around like loving, loyal dogs.
Every now and then you would walk into a corridor, the lights would black out and then a very unwelcomed statue would appear in front of you. It scared you, especially seeing as a second longer in the darkness would of spelt the end for you, but you knew that with the lights on and the two friendly SCP’s that remained at your side you were safe from the sentient statue. You would edge your way passed 173 before running off with the two beings that accompanied you.
You also met 106 a few times now. He probably would have got you earlier on but the eye pods always alerted you to danger when it came. That is the one advantage you had over everything and everyone in the facility. Anyhow, you would start running the moment they alerted you to something coming your way. If it wasn’t the telltale signs of the 173, the scraping of stone, then it would most likely be the old man that stalked you currently.
He may be slow and easily out ran, but he was unrelenting when he wanted to be and that is what annoyed you the most. You’d think you’d lose him but then he’d pop up like ‘surprise mother****er!’, not an actual quote, before the chase began anew.
You were now running out of places to run.
So far it had been you pretty much running in circles around the same area of the facility. That old man probably knew that too. Had you cornered in an endless circle, well, almost endless. You could end the constant circle running if you just plucked up the courage to use one of the elevators.
On the other hand… you don’t know what lies below. The things below could be much worse than what was chasing you around above. Then again… there wasn’t much worse than the old man. Maybe the angry lizard but that grumpy thing couldn’t fit in the tiny tunnels.
In that short moment, you decided that you should do one more loop around the area and then go into the first elevator you found once you got some distance between yourself and Larry. Probably not the best of ideas but you were kinda getting desperate here.
You found one, checked behind you to see if the old fart was there, no, and entered. The door closed you and the two SCP’s in a small, confined space but it was better than being chased around by granpa (not actually your grandpa).
Larry, of course, knew that you went in the elevator. He saw you and the weird eyed beings go in. He could probably intercept you one the way down, or meet you when the door opened. Then again… the bird face was down there, and bird face loves to walk up behind him and breath down his neck and tell him how he has ‘problems’. Meh, he didn’t feel like dealing with bird face. Larry may be old, but bird face was old fashioned and he couldn’t stand the way he talked to people sometimes. Oh well, looks like the duck gets to mess with you now. What’s this he hears? Is that the sound of two doctors talking? Two for the price of one meals for him then.
You, unlike Larry, didn’t know what was down there. So when the door opened to an empty corridor you were relieved. 131 A and B weren’t making a fuss which was a bonus. It meant that you were relatively safe. No old man acid, no statue scrapping, no nothing. It was quiet down here. Almost too quiet. So despite being relieved by the fact there was no immediate threat, you were worried about why there was no immediate threat.
You couldn’t of lost Larry that easily, right?
You stepped out of the elevator cautiously, still half expecting something, anything, to pop out at you from nowhere. You stood motionless for a few moments before taking some more shaky steps forward down the absurdly dark corridor. Honestly, you’d think a facility that housed many deadly creatures would invest in better lighting. You know, for the purpose of not having a deadly creature sneak up behind you and end your life without you realising it was about to be ended.
Instead, you’d know what is going to kill you or try to kill you. You’d know how to react to said creature. You’d know how screwed or not you were.
You continued slowly through the dark corridor, though at some points you had to feel your way around corners it was that dark, until you came to a slightly more lit up area.
Now your first thought was ‘thank god, I can see!’ but then you began to think, ‘wait, if power was cut to create a breach, wouldn’t more power be rerouted to containment cells to try and keep these things contained. It would explain the dark corridors’.
Now then, freaking yourself out is never a good thing. Plus, the eye pods aren’t reacting, yet.
You carefully approached the lit up area, making sure that your steps were silent, before reading the sign outside a containment cell… which happened to be wide open.
“SCP - 049, object class: euclid” you whispered to yourself slowly.
You weren’t a dumb piece of s***, you knew all about this one. How he acted, what it did, how it killed people. You were pretty sure if you did run into it, you’d be able to avoid it well enough, hopefully… well if you're fast enough to outrun him. Larry is easy to outrun, this guy is a different story.
I mentioned you weren’t dumb right? So you clearly noticed when you stepped out of the elevator that it power down the moment it hit the bottom floor, right? And guess where the generator for the elevators is kept. You entered the observation area a quickly scurried over to the console. You hastily began to power everything back up, not wanting to stay much longer than you had to.
With everything done you turned towards the exit, however it came to your attention that SCP 131 A and B were knocking against your legs and bouncing up and down, emitting a weird noise.
You bent down to their level and asked “What’s wrong guys?” but they didn’t need to give any answer. You heard some door close by open and some stupidly loud footsteps were sounded.
It was kinda obvious that the not so friendly face that appear around the door was that of a plague doctor mask.
The eye pods began to panic, seeing as a threat to your very existence was blocking the only exit you had. They started zipping around everywhere at alarmingly fast speeds.
“Greetings” Said the man in front of you, sounding very… casual while you on the other hand had your back pressed painfully against the console, trying to keep every inch of bare skin you had away from that man.
“Um, hi…” You responded, though you wanted to talk to someone this guy wasn’t exactly your first choice. Then again, he probably wasn’t your last either. Your body trembled violently, making it fairly obvious that you were terrified.
“Do not be afraid, I am the cure…” He said as he began to approach you, his hand lifted to the level of your neck. This was it, you were going to die and become some mindless zombie which will probably steal hope away from another person still trapped in this facility and/or get shot by an MTF unit.
His hand was so very close to your neck now.
Honestly, you didn’t expect what happened next. You didn’t see it coming, or the motion that prepared it. All you saw was the plague doctor stop and suddenly fell backwards, landing in a heap with a loud thud.
Why did this happen? The eye pods, those little legends had blue tac stuck to their heads with rope on top and had circled 049’s feet at lightning speed before tripping him over.
It took you a second to register what was happening before you quickly sprung into action and attempt to run for it.
As you past him, the doctor grabbed your leg, which you were now thankful you were wearing trousers, and attempted to hold you down.
“Don’t go, I am a doctor. I am the cure” he said trying to find a way to ‘cure’ you with the position he currently was in.
“Sorry… but I don’t see your name anywhere on my health insurance, so no!” You said, shaking him off and continuing to make your escape. The eye pods quickly detached themselves from 049 before catching up with you at the elevator.
You didn’t have much time on your hands. The rope would only buy you a few precious seconds.
The elevator was coming, you could hear it but you could also hear the plague doctor approaching. A deadly race of elevator and doctor.
Ha, doctor lost. Just as he rounded the corner, the elevator opened and without hesitation you entered. and practically slammed the door on his face seeing as he was right outside when it shut.
“S***! I think that guy knows how to use an elevator…” You said to the eyepods. Oh well, you better bolt when you get out, because the next person that uses that elevator will be coming for you!

Thanks. I didn't know what to write for so long and, like many things, the ideas came to me whilst lying in bed (though I forgot most of them...).
