This is one of two Red Eared Slider Turtles that we released into a friends pond. He only comes to us. Whenever we visit we give him a snack.Related content

BACON?! Why are you feeding a turtle bacon!? RES are more omnivores then carnivores. If you feed it bacon it's like feeding a person 20 burgers.... I hope that is just a one time a year deal...

It's a piece of turkey, and it is only once in a awhile. They go NUTS over it.

We used to have them in a tank at our house and they would naturally just swim over to the tank opening when I fed them. I would feed them cubes of frozen bloodworms and sometimes pieces of meat. hey would swim over like crazy and almost be begging for it...especially cooked bacon!
They got so big that we had to release them into a friends pond, but they still remember us and will come over when they hear our voices ^___^

Me too. I would have loved to have kept them but they required a way bigger thank then we could provide, however, they seem to be doing great in the pond
