Design: The Type 42 PK/Ferret is a modular armored car which can be outfitted for different mission profiles, but typically intended for dangerous non-combat missions such as reconaissance, medevac, and transporting and protecting command personnel. Not intended for combat, its only arnament is a revolver machine gun suitable for usage against infantry, protected by a gun shield on top. Access is through a single door placed at the rear of the vehicle. It is propelled with all-wheel electric drive systems.
Designed as a relatively lightweight vehicle, the Ferret still has sufficient armor protection against light arms from all directions as well as limited landmine protection. Visibility is better than in more heavily armored assault armored cars such as the Stoat or Weasel, so it is more suitable for reconaissance. Off-road capability is limited however, and it is best used along roads or at least relatively flat terrain.
History: The Ferret was developed as a mobile base for Priest-knights to direct their soldiers from, with decent visibility, protection, and mobility. In the command role, it is usually used significantly behind friendly lines, but it is still armored to protect against enemy commandoes or strafing from aircraft machine guns. Unsuitable for combat, it was nonetheless deployed with increasing frequency to the front lines as an APC, Medevac, or reconaissance vehicle, and variations on its design intended for these purposes were built as well. In particular it was commonly used by artillery spotter crews. As one of the most mobile military vehicles in use by the Cytaari armed forces, at least along roads, its main value is in transporting material and personnel quickly.
Meta (not official part of dossier)h my GOD this thing was annoying to make. I'm not satisfied with either it or the environment but I still post all my renders so here it is. Ugh, planes are just... so much easier to make than ground vehicles! I had to take several tutorials for it and even still, the environment looks pretty rough. But I just, canot be bothered to spend any more time on this. I actually started modelling it before the Astral Twilight but didnt finish it till now. I'm just happy to be done with it honestly. I worked on this volcanic landscape environment to improve on the completely out of scale astral twilight environment, to use with all my vehicles... I chose it cause it didnt have grass or other objects which would greatly slow renders. But it turned out pretty badly and honestly I dont know what to do for environment now. I might just continue to use it anyways? oh well.
The vehicle is also the least creative I made since its literally just a Didgori-1 with a different gun. What can I say, I like the Didgori.
The camo scheme shown is Type 42 CR/Mink camo, based on a variety of mustelids with earthy brown and reddish brown used towards the top and a pale tan underbelly similar to stoats and other mustelids.
