Muzzle Velocity: 300 m/s (Rocket slugs will accelerate up to 500 m/s over a distance of ten meters)

Construction: The Purifier is an integrally silenced selective fire shotgun loading from a pan magazine located on top of the reciever. 36 shells are held in two stacks of 18. The SF/ (or 'Special Forces') model here is constructed with a tough whalebone and ivory housing instead of the typical wood furnishings used by lower quality variations of the weapon (though all parts are mutually compatible between different models of the gun.) For sights, the Purifier has a green ring reflex sight. The barrel itself is made of Type 42 "storm cobalt" alloy, although the reciever and magazine are constructed of Type 42 Aluminium Alloy Grade One. Internal sound baffles reduce the recoil and eliminate muzzle flash, although the weapon is still fairly noisy. The muzzle is equipped with a recoil booster to improve reliability of the feed mechanism during automatic fire.

Ammunition: The Purifier loads the 40ChT Caseless cartridge, a telescoped caseless shell which consists of either incendiary flechette shells or, more commonly, Semi-armor piercing explosive rocket slugs. These are considered particularly valuable in urban warfare, for their ability to quickly shred cover. A direct hit from a rocket slug is nearly guaranteed to kill, while a close impact will at least stun from the concussive effect and may inflict significant damage from fragmentation.

History: The Type 42 SF/Purifier was commissioned as a high firepower assault weapon for the Divine Avengers, especially suited to urban warfare. There was a mixed response to the weapon; some appreciated the high firepower of the weapon, which when loaded with rocket slugs could shred through sandbags and concrete faster than any other small arm. Others felt the relatively high weight of the weapon compared to the Valkyrie revolver or Storm Carbine inhibited its effectiveness in close quarters where a fraction of a second could be the difference between life and death.

Nonetheless, the weapon saw widespread usage among Divine Avenger and Temple Regiment assault units, who commonly used it for suppressing fire and overwatch. With its incendiary flechette shells, it was also a common choice for ambushes due to its ability to rapidly clear large numbers of infantry, something which ordinarily would have required a belt-fed machine gun to match. Additionally, it was commonly carried by infantry supporting armored battalions

Meta: Was originally meant to be used by the character but I kinda cut some of that project since I wanted to have it posted. Still, I post everything I work on, so here's the Type 42 SF/Purifier. Adding details to firearms is hard and honestly I have no idea how to do it so its a bit nondescript, but oh well, hopefully the basic design will make it interesting enough.
