To attend to its terrestrial scouting and forward observation needs, the Outer Systems Alliance worked together with the New Prophecy of Yeria to lay out the specifications for what would shortly become the 'Hussar'-Type Hover Scout. The 'Hussar' is a middle-weight repulsor-craft that is fast for its size and consequently not particularly well armored - not that it is intended for any kind of stand-up-and-fight-fight. A pair of medium IR laser turrets give it the ability to engage infantry and it carries a large box launcher on the rear deck but this is not intended to give it an anti-armor punch; the typical load-out is four multi-purpose missiles with the rest mixed between launched spotter drones and fixed reconnaissance sensor platforms. It has a two-man crew with a pilot-gunner and an information officer.

Since it was also observed that for a 'law enforcement organization' the OSA doesn't seem to do a lot of police work, a modified version of the 'Hussar' has been deployed as well. This variant removes the box launcher and replaces it with a multi-function 'first responder' turret that has lights, sirens, and a fire suppression / crowd control system. The crew capacity was increased to four, and a lock-up added.
