this piece is MASSIVE D: biggest digital canvas i've ever used.so much detail, as well.
N'evaliah
The swans are used as messengers LOL LYK HARI POTA. no.
The school is for women only. The students are chosen at the age of 15 and spend 3 years within the castle (which is built among the mountains of the north, and protected from strangers by the harsh conditions and ice labirynth's that surround it) where they learn to channel magic. At the age of 18 they are sent to the oldest city, home to the wisest people, where they learn about history, geography, the world and everything in it. At 20 they return to the school where they complete a final test before becoming Channelers.
see if you can find the little rodent that is scampering around the books
LOTS OF CUT AND PASTE FOR THE BOOKS lulz. i am lazy.

Wow this is nice.
I do have one little itsy bitsy bit of critique though, if you don't mind it. The first section of her visible arm is especially long, her elbow would likely end much sooner, and you'd have some foreshortening on the second section of it.
But otherwise, wow, this is stunning. I absolutely adore the folds in her dress.
And woah, does that mousething have six legs?

haha, thankyou this was just something fun to do for myself
and YES yes it does. the only thing better than a furry library critter is a furry SIX-LEGGED library critter x3

no.. haha which is funny because i have read the first 2 or something xD but no, definately not. i can't even remember the structure of the world much..
i suppose it's just hard to come up with ideas that havn't already been done these days.. what parts are similar?

I didn't mean geography or anything, but their education system and concept
But here it is:
The words channeler and novice similar as in the books
Novices all wear white.
The school is for women only.
In the beginning, (as a novice in the books) they spend several years learning to channel magic. Later, (as an Accepted in the books) they learn about history, geography, the world and everything in it. Then they complete a final test before becoming Channelers.
In the novels the ages are not this fixed, but the concept is pretty similar

haha.. that IS similar. well, i suppose it just shows you how much you actually subconsciously absorb even when you're not thinking about something xD
urgh, i'm annoyed about the word channelor. it's so hard to use words for people who can make magic, without using the obvious and done-a-million-times-before words..
in my headworld men can learn magic as well, but it's harder for them because they're not as closely connected to creation and the ability to create life and all that.. so school's are generally for women. it's more practical for men to learn things like warfare and hitting things with swords and other sharp objects :B

"i suppose it just shows you how much you actually subconsciously absorb even when you're not thinking about something xD" yeah, it's interesting
Um.. some ideas for doing magic: shaping (the energy), calling (the inner power/spirits), singing/dancing/dreaming... (that's all that comes to my mind now )
The proper phrase depends on how do you imagine magic and the way of using magic power in your world

Whoa, nice! Even for copypasta, the books all around her look like they really belong and contribute to a sense of imtimacy. Face it, if you like books, you're not a long-distance communicator. Except if you sell them through Ebay. Then you're just a merchant, which is not something you'd want to me in ancient East Asian cultures.
But back to this! The girl's dress is beautiful, and contrasts really well with her vivid hair ^_^ She's got that air of delicate dignity to her, and the sky behind her definitely helps that out. Absolutely breathtaking, and makes me want to do humans moar.

Haha, that's not even what I spit out to WARM UP. It's just late at night, and two lines looks a lot longer than what I had there xD;
Seriously, though, it's a nice picture! I just wish I didn't have to stare at all of these freaking mudkips (for posterity, this was an April 1st joke where the DAdmins thought it'd be funny to oldmeme EVERYONE) so I could know who I was commenting on D: And I'll try and see what I could upload in the near future, mmkay?
