Yeh it sounds very cliche but Spino is my favorite dinosaur ahahahaha he and the Carnotaurus! When i was a kid i used to watch that Disney Dinosaur and i just loved the Carnos so much too!

I loved that movie! Although I was kinda biased with carnivorous dinosaurs back then and I got sad that the carnotaurus didn't get his way in the end. I actually have a book of that movie and it's what inspired me to do 3D art.

yeah i got me sad too that both were killed! but i like to think that there were more Carnos that managed to survive!

really? oh the only thing i had was that really old computer game from the movie! and i really loved playing it as a child!

its great when things like this inspire us to do art!

Yeah, looking back I could really say that these childhood memories greatly affects what artists do with their art.

Thanks man! I watch a lot of YouTube videos and practice sculpting my pieces using dynamesh (I've never sculpted anything without using it, it's just that helpful.). I'm still learning a lot about zbrush myself

I assume you must leave out all the detailing until the end after you have the form worked out. Brush seems like program that you have to spend a few months playing with until you get it to behave. I think the problem I have is I don't know what to sculpt. What did you model on your first few steps?

I started practicing with dinosaurs, my first model was only a bust of a raptor. I suggest exploring the brushes and applying them on a sphere and then picking subjects where you can apply the effects of those brushes. For example, if you use the standard brush you'll see that it's a great brush for sculpting veins, roots, and boils, so pick a subject where you can apply that like a grotesque horror movie character with veins popping out and boils on it's skin. I learned a lot from that method while getting to do what I love so I'm comfortable with it. But I'm still learning ZBrush myself so maybe there's a better method than mine. Enjoy sculpting! I had a blast when it was my first time using the program.

Thanks for such a full bodied reply! I have been playing about with brush every chance I get and am getting comfortable with the UI , just shaping the models into something I like hasn't happened yet. I need to pick a subject , pin down what I am aiming for because mindlessly playing about simply isn't given me results. I'm sure if I put in the time the ease of sculpting  will come with experience, I will look back and laugh at my struggles then , I really look forward to one day being about to sculpt some monsters with as much ease as drawing them.
Thanks greatly for your kind time in answering my noob query, and keep up the awesome work.
