When I drew Emily Elizabeth, (from Clifford, the big red dog)as a character from an anime, people said they wanted to see Clifford too.

And ya'll are like... duh, that's not a dog. Listen! What kind of an anime would it be if he were a dog all the time? He's a BOY who can turn INTO a dog. Sounds like an anime already, doesn't it?

I figured a crazy Clifford the anime plot would go something like this:

Clifford is the son of Cerberus, the guardian dog of the underworld. Well, under Hades rule, Hell wasn't doing to.. eh... hot, so Cerberus and the other demons overthrew him and cast him into the void. Cerberus was appointed ruler and everything was hunky-dorey in Hell for a good long time, all the while Hades waiting in the void and plotting his revenge.

Fast forward a few hundred years. Cerberus is getting old and about to appoint his son, Clifford as the new rulder of Hell, but Clifford is still young, and Hades takes this moment to act and returns, taking Hell back by force, casting Clifford out of Hell and to Earth.

Enter Emily Elizabeth, a lonely girl who, one night while on her way home, passes by a church only to find a strange boy lying hurt on the sidewalk. When she stops to help him, a swarm of black things swoop down to attack her. Magically the boy transforms into a giant red dog (eh heh. yeah. perfect anime sense) and fights them off, but is hurt badly in the fight.

So, Emily Elizabeth sneaks him home, where Clifford later explains that he's been cast out of Hell by Hades, who is bent on killing him while a mortal on earth, and has to get back to save his father and take his place as ruler of Hell.

Of course, it couldn't be a real anime if they didn't have to find something, so when Clifford was banished to earth, Hell's seal was shattered into seven pieces, which Emily Elizabeth and Clifford have to collect (before Hades) so that Clifford can go back to Hell.

And that's how Clifford would become an anime. If you read all that, you're a better person than I am. ^__^
