Such a quiet and melancholic portrait. It seems to me that this dark space behind a figure is not a shadow.
Your painting technique at height, as always. But so it would be desirable to see a spark. Why this guy hooked on your attention?

Thank you very much, your comments are most welcome. Although this guy is not a real person, I am quite certain that he exists somewhere. You are correct, the darkness (for the time being) is this man's constant companion, it is a reflection or representation of his state of mind - there is no "spark" that this man can see at this time. Perhaps it reflects a part of my persona that rears itself from time to time.
