Description Remember that picture I drew? Well, here's the real thing, sans makeup. I gave him the portrait, which I'm fairly sure he liked, though they tend not to get a lot of time to chat since there are so many people to talk to. Being insane, I went and bought evening tickets too, and saw it again (still brilliant, oh my god, and more chance to focus) and stage doored in frigid frigid weather. A lot of people hightailed because of the cold, so we got a few more seconds to chat, and he told me he posted up the fan letters I had given him on the board, which will make the fans happy. There were other actors too, and they were very nice, but...it's Michael for me, frankly. God, it was so amazing.

Note: I look awful here. I know I do. I definitely had to make some corrections, and reapply my own eyebrow and so on. Whereas the light bleaches me out beyond belief, he looks great, so it's all good.

You're so lucky to have chatted with Michael Cerveris...and the picture's just adorable. His growly tones gave me the chills during the show. He was an absolutely brilliant Sweeney.

Well, luck has a LITTLE bit to do with it. I'd say that idiotic boldness/strength of will/craftiness actually got me there. Michael's actually really easy to talk to.

...It's John Arbo who's the scary one.

Well then kudos on your boldness/strength of will/craftiness. And even if Michael's easy to talk to, after seeing him as Sweeney I'm not sure I'd be able to go within arm's reach.

If anything, he's one of the least scary actors I've met. Allen Fitzpatrick, who I first saw play it here, remains as one of the most intimidating actors I've ever met, even though I've spent considerably more time in his company. It's pretty easy to see what kind of person Michael is when you talk to him, and certainly easy enough to see what he's thinking or how he's feeling. Allen, however, is completely cryptic in a way that's not quite normal. It's very unnerving.

I know. I figured it would be bad manners to pinch/kiss/bite him, though. I did flirt a tiny bit the second time round, though.
