Description
Aaaaaand, back to your regularly scheduled "Loki" with some Loki and Sigyn.I sort of love the idea of Sigyn representing summer colors and Loki as winter darkness.

I can see how that makes sense, Its a very good picture. I've always kind of liked Loki better than Thor and Sigyn better than Lorelei.

Very nice! Somehow it's hard to fit Sigyn on the moviverse continuiti, in spite she appears in both, comics and myths. But well, we can try...

Hahahha! Well, I love Mytology, no matter what (I've some myth pics on my gallery, after all ), but I'm more familiarized with Greek-classic and Egypcian myths than Norse ones... still, I cannot help
As for Marvel, I've read some comic series, but I'm not too much into thoses (perhaps, Transformers is the series I'm involved the most); therefore I've read a bunch of classic Thor comics and I've own two comics books. I love the Moviverse, though, and this version of Loki. And certainly I'd like to see Sigyn at here.

I'm in the same situation as you, I have had to rush to read Norse mythology texts to understand what's going on! I already amusingly knew about Loki from my childhood because I have always loved archetypal tricksters.
The comics vary a lot in quality and can be corny so I understand!
Yes this version of Loki really has pulled at my heartstrings! You know how I love family strife in a series, LOL.

Yup! This universe fits your taste quite a lot: a trickter + family issues... it's just like putting together Zel and Xelloss in an only person
I've been reading legends and myths since I was 12, but I found Greek and Egyptian ones were more easier to find or just easier to read. However, I agree: with i-net, these days is easier to read about Norse myths.
Still, I find there is a very huge gap between Moviverse and the original myths: for example, you know myth Loki never was evil, just trickets, and a quite joyful personality... nothing to do with a creature with such sadness and family issues, in spite his trickets behaviour.
And comics? Yup, they're corny... at least classic issues. I never has been really found on comic-Loki because he just fit the typical villan role, but it seems, over the decades, the concept has been developed. Let's see what happens the next thansk to the strong fans base on movies.

Yup! This universe fits your taste quite a lot: a trickter + family issues... it's just like putting together Zel and Xelloss in an only person <--LOL this is awesome to read because I've been telling my friend for months that Loki is Xel and Zel's impossible love child XDDDDD
Still, I find there is a very huge gap between Moviverse and the original myths: for example, you know myth Loki never was evil, just trickets, and a quite joyful personality... nothing to do with a creature with such sadness and family issues, in spite his trickets behaviour. <--Exactly! He was rather like Puck from Celtic myths and Shakespeare, although I find it tragic that he was still treated quite cruelly by the Norse gods in the end as punishment for (semi)-accidentally setting up a chain of pretty awful events that ultimately led to Ragnarok. I often honestly, when I rp Loki (which I do plentifully ), dabble in this trickster persona more than in the comics villain, though I am quite fond of the Loki in the films and for me at least, it has more to do with the complexity of the character and his motives than it does with his physical attractiveness (though he IS attractive).
I honestly think Tom Hiddleston (the Loki actor) redefined the character entirely to be engaging. He took the comics as a basis, but he openly admits that he more heavily looked to Shakespearean villains and archetypal brotherly struggles such as the Biblical struggle of Cain and Abel, Ramses and Moses, to portray Loki. I'm so glad that he did.
Well it's really been good talking to you again :3 I admit I haven't really been much into Slayers for a few months now, and haven't seen you around much.
