Description
These scars are my reality,
and my wounds play my escape,
they dance on edge of fatality,
hidden well beneath their cape.
their grinning pain reminds me
of all that i have done,
in all my attempts to set myself free,
but yet i have never won.
i have remained within the walls,
of my own unhumoured mind,
walking unheeded of loves calls,
leaving them all well behind.
my mind it walks as hollow,
as a madman with no cause
it makes it hard to follow,
this worlds imaginary laws.
i'll look up to see my life,
passing without a glance,
i'll look back to my knife,
to fill me in on this dance,
to remind me of the real,
and all the things thats not,
the knife it tells me how to feel,
since its all been long forgot.
the scars it leaves will keep me here
tied down to the present time,
and god forbid gives a little cheer,
if only for a dime.
it tells me to give love,
to those i would never have
if i was never around,
to dead, deseased and gone,
unable to hear that gorgeous sound,
as we sit and watch the dawn
i would miss you far too much,
to ever depart without you,
i would miss your gentle touch,
and if only that you knew,
its you that holds me here now,
no more blade, no more blood,
and to you and all too see i vow,
i will survive through fire wind or flood,
with no more knife to tell me what to feel,
you will save me from myself,
and teach me how to heal
