Dude, in real life, we still use glass bottles to hold our sodas and shit, and we also use plastic bottle but those arn't as interesting. in the world of mlp, it's very likely that they still use glass bottles for sodas, cause i don't think can tabs with be easy for hooves.

Even so, look at this bottle, it looks exactly like alcohol bottles do in cartoons most of the time. Look up cartoon beer bottles and I can almost guarantee you'll find a bunch of bottles that look very similar to this one.
